I am now expecting to have to wait for the September update. I can be patient on both sets of holdings if needed, although originally expected to be long gone by now.

August trading likely to be thinner still I guess, but like I said, absolutely no feel for the direction of travel here are all, so will just sit back and see where the tide takes me :)

I bought a few for the kids. Undecided yet whether for a LTH or for a trade. Small enough quantity to take a fairly relaxed approach in any event.

I have absolutely no feel for, or idea of where, this one is heading in the short term, but if you did not fly blind sometimes, you would never leave the house :) GLA.

If any of you are familiar with the other chat board, and want to see the views of another ex holder (who was once as bullish as I was, I think it is probably fair to say) - take a read of what Perfect Choice has to say.

Needless to say, not investment advice, just personal opinions etc, but IMO covers a lot of the things that I came to finally accept myself, and indeed goes into even greater depth than I did in my reflections.

If it hit that on no company-specific news, I would have to at least double my current position (which is quite small, as this is only a planned trade for me, but nevertheless).

That is mainly because the purchasing power of the pound has significantly diminished in that time (same for USD), rather than the property assets becoming worth more, if you catch my meaning. Notwithstanding other factors like location etc, but as a broad rule, I think it stands.

Hence my earlier comment about the long term value of buying real assets - which you were smart enough to realise back then, so well done.

I already have my target exit price here, while currently sitting around the 385p average, so not looking for guidance, it was just a matter of curiosity.

If yours was the 230p ish (I was not sure from your post), then fair enough. I think I am going to see my target price first, but time will tell.

Nobody is (or indeed should) take predictions or recommendations as a buy or sell signal, ever. Not that these chat boards have any influence whatsoever on a SP movement IMO. Especially not one that is above micro cap standing.

But IMO it is part of the fun of these chat boards to share such things when one wants to. As long as you put your hand up when you are wrong...which I do, because I frequently am :) GLA.

You cannot go wrong with real assets like property, over a decent period of time, IMO.

Well done too, for taking those opportunities and early retirement...although one never really retires - you just do something else, as you have demonstrated :)

Ultimately, especially when it comes to stock market stuff, we all just try to find a method that works for us as individuals.

Out of curiosity, if you do not mind sharing, what is your target entry price and exit price here?

Pipedreamer: Your comment made me think of Long-Term Capital Management fund. The equations work...until they don't.

That sounds plausible, although I do not have my ear to the ground, so no strong opinion one way or the other on that.

If Iain and the team can deliver (as I think they will), it will be so satisfying, because it will, IMO, represent a terrific turnaround story.

And it will be gratifying to have been a very small part of that journey.

Obviously the potential financial gain will be nice too, if it comes to pass :)

I picked up another 10K today. Was going to wait for low 8's, which will probably come, as I always jump the gun, but that is me fully loaded for now. GLA.

Well done on making a good profit! I took good profits on SBTX a while back (but not as high as the top sadly).

The decision was based on my belief that the SP over there had become too frothy, especially when considering the OPTI overhang and Stephen's periodic selling down of the holding.

Given the small number of shares in issue and fairly small free float within that too, who knows how far this one could travel? Especially when you add the number of stale, but stubborn, holders like me that have not averaged down recently so are still sitting on dreadful averages, but not planning to sell up for quite some time yet either (subject to obvious caveats).

You will see plenty of profit taking sooner or later in all probability, but if SOH keeps the positive news-flow coming, then this is AIM...where anything (good and bad) can happen. GLA.

I can think of a couple of pretty well-known global names that seem to have quietly dropped or significantly reduced their green agenda patter quite recently. Presumably at the behest of important shareholders.

Shareholders of this bank will IMO make their feelings clear about recent events in the coming weeks similarly.

IMO, you could make a case for the recently exposed behaviour to be deemed a fiduciary duty failure, on top of the other stuff.

But that again is for shareholders to ponder. GLA.

It is an interesting conundrum. In principle, I agree that a business should have freedom to choose their customers and vice versa.

I can think of several examples that hit the media, from that religious couple who owned that cake shop, to that pub in Essex with the golliwogs, to the Bud Light stuff and similar larger corporate examples.

For something as essential and unavoidable as banking, perhaps this is one sector where free market thinking cannot be applied.

That is without even touching upon the blatant hypocrisy, which IMO undermines the so called principles behind the initial decision.

IMO, there will be fines, plenty of out of court settlements, maybe the odd sacrificial lamb even, but this is not going to be an existential threat to the bank.

I do think it is appalling though and quite frankly anyone, whether they consider themselves on the left or right of the political spectrum, should be extremely concerned about this state of affairs.

And also remember this when CBDC's are launched in the West.

It is certainly starting to feel like a 'FFS' situation :)

I have no problem with share awards for successful employees in a company, but I would rather we got to a stage of profitability here before we start doing that.

Solid report card, IMO. Not all good, but satisfactory enough to my mind.

Just hope they do not look to make any further acquisitions with that excess cash (after dividends and buy backs) just to be seen to be doing something.

AAPL and BRK sit on a huge cash pile. Good enough a strategy for them, good enough for us (although naturally it would be nice to have their balance sheets!)

Worthy of a return to the mid 8's IMO, but cannot see 9's being hit without higher numbers and improving EPS - but I am a satisfactory holder at the time of print, taking everything into consideration from the update today. GLA.

Completely agree. I am getting better at buy and sell discipline (targets in advance etc), but still make some howlers. Work in progress I guess.

I have actually dumped (at a fairly chunky cumulative loss) several of my AIM dogs this year. Most were LTH like this one. All were the right decision, albeit far too late in the day - but sometimes it is a case of better late than never. Especially if you are not going to participate in further fund raises or average down etc.

I kept this one because I decided in January or so to give it 2023 for SOH to finally deliver on Sweet. That deadline remains. The faith has not been restored yet, but naturally I would be delighted to be given a sensible reason to change my mind.

As I have said before, I do not like being critical of my holdings, but I just need credible reasons to be supportive!

Oh, I completely agree, bogyo. This one is an early 'adventure' investment that I made when I was more wet behind the ears than I hopefully now am.

Long before I learnt that you do not LTH these types of outfits. Long before I applied a more critical and less trusting approach to the words of CEO's. Especially those on AIM.

But maybe I will get lucky this time, in spite of a terrible initial strategy that means I did not take a small loss a long time ago.

Sometimes you have to pay good money to learn valuable lessons :)

I still maintain that if you get to the stage that anon did, it is the right decision. As long as you are prepared for the potential of seeing a significant rise in SP that you missed out on once exited.

The mental aspect, as well as the opportunity cost of holding something that now reviles you, is rarely worth the trouble IMO.

FWIW, I am staying put for now, but more through apathy than confidence that I will get my money back here....although if I do, some people who bought in recently are going to make a packet. Good luck to them as well. Timing is everything, especially on AIM. Great for trading. Terrible for investing in.

Show me the revenue and profit as per previous chatter, and I will gladly withdraw previous sentiments expressed about SOH too.

In fact, if he does end up delivering, this may yet be an AIM gem, as I first thought it might be several years ago. Need to see the pudding first, let alone taste it, to see either way. IMO, one way or the other, we will have a reliable indication at some point in this year, as I think I suggested earlier this winter.

Any positive news is welcome (and well done to those who are going to make a nice profit trading this one), but for me, as a LTH and investor here, it remains all about cold, hard, numbers still.

That said, hopefully this is the start of a flurry of positive updates. Not before time. GLA.
