I just felt the SP had had a really good run, and had become overbought.

Especially in a wider market that I felt strongly was going to correct any day. Not necessarily the mother of all crashes type of event, but a general correction at the very least.

Results should be solid. My decision was not driven by a feeling that they will disappoint. Equally not expecting anything above expectations either.

If we end up revisiting 130's ish on no company-specific news, I may well simply jump back in, but that is just based on guess-work to a degree, nothing seriously technical.

Ultimately, that is simply in the region that I currently feel offers attractive value right now. While 160's feels fairly valued IMO. At the time of print of course. Upgrade to results, or another bid, and my opinion would obviously change, even if I was unable to get back in, in such scenarios.

Well, I cannot speak for others here, but my recent position was a gamble, not a planned investment.

That said, you simply cannot tell. The macro stuff has been awful for ages (as I continue to bang on about) and obviously at some point there will be a correction to match the realities.

But until then, IMO you keep on going until the music stops, as long as you keep back plenty of dry powder and only invest/gamble what you do not need to access in the short to medium term. Maybe even longer term!

In terms of the question why hold this one rather than eg a bond...that is simple. When this one moves, it can really move. Naturally, in either direction!

I would not hold this one, or any other stock for that matter, if I only had X amount of spare cash and no other asset classes. I presume the same thinking applies to most/all other shareholders here (and hopefully all other stocks too).

Many will hold bonds as well of course, so not a question of either/or.

I decided to take profits here, the other day.

The 165p level was simply too tempting on the second visit, so I hit the button.

Might be one of those that I end up kicking myself for, but it will remain on my watch list, in case I get the chance to return.

IMO, miners will have a run again, hence my being quite heavily involved with several PM miners, but time will tell.

It may also not happen before a wash out either, which I am also prepared for.

When I suggested I would load up in the 400's, I did not mean I would go all in. I would continue to buy all the way down though, even if we see 2008 levels once again here.

Am I right in thinking that this and Wetherspoon are the first disclosed level positions that Arrowstreet have taken since 2016 (which was RRS, now Barrick)?

Anyway, I have always rated Wetherspoon as a top company, but always felt it was too frothy a valuation for me to take a position myself.

Silly me. And I would not be surprised if they lose money on their short in that one, given TM's ability to seemingly overcome any and all challenges that gets thrown their way, year after year.

Asos maybe is a more logical short, although IMO there are a number of other 'easier' targets than this one.

We will know soon enough I guess. Watching closely to see if we revisit the 50 DMA. I think, if it does, there will be a fair amount of buying pressure. I might retake those I sold if it does and I suspect many others would add if it revisited the lower 300's too.

Fair enough. I think the debt is manageable too, and the services they provide IMO are basically essential, hence my position here.

As I think I said before on this chat board, (cannot remember now) IMO a takeover is more feasible if (or hopefully when) updates continue to show declining debt and growing profits, but we shall see.

Continuing to bring down debt is the number one priority for me in this credit environment and I fully expect the Board to feel similarly. More importantly, I think they have demonstrated that this is indeed front and centre of their thoughts.

Absolutely no idea where the bottom is here. It feels more likely that the 78p ish region (that another poster cited the other day, from a technical perspective), will get tested, rather than circa 82p being the bottom, IMO. Especially as we printed yet another new low again today.

But, if you are going to try and catch a falling knife, you need to put your hand out sooner or later :)

Will take a final tranche if we do indeed hit 60p ish on no company specific news and then wait it out.

I fancy a bounce to 96p ish at some point, but as it is a gut feeling, it may well just be a lack of afternoon coffee dulling my senses, rather than any great vision into the future... GLA.

It is nice to be able to have a civil exchange of views. Often seems to spiral into nastiness on some of these chat boards, recriminations and paranoia, which renders such threads pointless IMO. Echo chambers benefit nobody.

His professional credibility and reputation has already been found to be lacking.

The evidence for this statement can be traced back to the (poor) CLN deal that was replaced by an even worse fund raise deal.

Either he misled shareholders that the CLN deal was cancelled by mutual consent, meaning they had no choice but to go ahead with worse terms elsewhere.

Or it was a prima facie case of failing in fiduciary duty.

The BOD did not even make any substantial purchases from their own pockets when they had the opportunity to do so. Even at the silly raise price. Assuming it was a silly price, that is.

Throw in the Dundas debacle and other serious question marks over several other aspects of the business before RE's tenure , and it is not a rosy picture.

Anyway, short term traders may make a quick buck here, and as I have said before, good luck to you, but it is no longer a serious or credible company (I guess I should add an IMO), so just be careful is all I would say.

I used to glance over MF from time to time. Usually when searching for the latest news info on a particular company and one of their articles popped up in the feed.

I remember on more than one occasion seeing a bullish and a bearish piece on the same company in the same week! Not driven by any material change of news on said company either, so not an amended view, for example :)

I just think this one is a punt right now, while MKA - while no guarantees (and I am not looking to ramp them either, so not a recommendation etc) - has a management team, led by someone with real skin in that company - that has a far higher chance of rewarding LTH's than this one.

But as I always say, time will tell. For both outfits.

And ultimately, we either win or we lose. Everything else is just noise. AIM is what it is. Could and should be a far better vehicle for capital and for investors, rather than the wild west cesspit that it is, but hey ho. GLA.

No point having mining licences unless you actually mine stuff. Dundas should have been generating revenue for the company long before now. Booted once again into the long grass.

Licence to print, and then burn, shareholder cash, to date, is where MKA and this one differs, IMO. At the time of print, anyway.

I agree geopolitically more stable. Although again, that does not matter if the company is not actually doing any mining or other revenue generation activities.

Number of shares in issue is certainly not irrelevant, but I agree market cap size is relevant. And the mcap here is too high for what is now essentially just an explorer (still - after all this time!)

They have a CEO who put real money into buying shares in that company, unlike the BOD here.

They have far fewer shares in issue than this outfit.

While time will tell, IMO, they are also far more likely to reward LTH's than the BOD here ever will.

But traders will get a pump here at some point. Maybe tomorrow, who knows?

It will signify nothing, insofar as to whether or not this company will ever actually achieve anything, apart from having made a few directors an extremely comfortable living for far too many years.

Reward for consistent failure is about as polite as I can manage.
