So glad there is no RNS coming out every 5 minutes from this company. I have been invested in companies whereas the BoD is trying to influence the sp with thousand of news flow...I have got in to the habit to be suspicious when this is the case.
Mid September beside AGM (I think) there should be out the Q2 financials and maybe we will get updates on new contract and sales for the second part of this year. But already from the recent trading update it seems that sales will be equal if not greater to the June month....so it looks that by end of the year half of current market capital will be net cash at bank. If we are going to get half of it in dividend it makes 25% return (but I am not counting on it)

Very interesting....strange there was no mention of Novacyt in the list of companies spying tests to uk gov.

Thanks for the reply, looking at the trades eventually i did realised that it was not 10p , that is a bit better. I am considering re-invest in here with a view to hold for a while ...have to say the announcements are not very revealing in regard of forward sale prediction, but i suppose if that was the case the sp wouldn't be so low.
One bad experience I had with another similar share of recent was bottle necking in the supply chain (In Novacyt case I suppose would be issues with reagent availability) the one I was referring to was Alpha Pro Tech that supply PPE, they are expanding with huge book order but some constrain in the availability of some raw material for production.

Meanwhile gold price is on the retreat....as said before HUM sp lowered to 35ish just before the coup, at today 31 close and given the current circumstances I am looking for below 25 as reentry point, and even then I wouldn't expect to make a quick profit. Any sp rise from here will be sold by those speculative investors, unless gold shot up past 2100 coup or not i my opinion this share have little potential for a quick rise back to previous sp levels, possibly even the coming financial result will be sold out given that it is all already in the know. Technically the first support level is at 25ish and then at 20p a much more strong support. but at 31p of today considering that this is the only mine HUM has and is in Mali, is not for me.

One thing is that the Mali people don't need new elections, (this is what we investors need for the problem to go away). The people from Mali need a country that works, education, infrastructures, jobs and medical assistance. There is total support from the population for this coup, this is already a new election with the winner to materialize....Like in any coup any new leader will need the support of the military ofcourse.
Now we are going to see the usual tug of war between western political interests, condemning the coup and wanting the previous government to be reinstated, and Mali and its citizen that want a change. This in stead of helping the transition process could exacerbate the situation, and give good reason to a new anti western government to confiscate assets or make it very difficult for miners to operate. Don't forget that the mining royalties and taxes received by the previous Mali government are very low compare to other parts of the world and possibly this money were hardly filtering trough to the Mali citizen for them to care whether or not these mining assets change hands. Apparently the opposition forces have already pledged for new elections, this in my view would be the best case scenario for anyone invested in Mali and its citizen.

May be 10p is a wishful thinking because if it reach that price, it means all major sp support levels are no longer there . I can see this going quit lower though considering that last week HUM was hovering at today sp. Also gold today made a strange move downward from 2025 to 1985 for then going back up......hmmmmm

I sold out, this was an unlucky investment for me, but is also a bit my fault. I should have know that an African mining company with a single mine in a unstable Country would carry some high risk. I am happy to take the loss, plenty of more mining companies out there...

Hi board bought some today after jumping off the Biotech sector, I am building a precious metal portfolio for the short/mid terms. On the point of central banks trying to keep a lid on gold prices, I thing given the circumstance they have given up all together. These are not normal times and there are much more urgent problem to solve, including social unrests and civil war. the world has changed dramatically in the space of months and possibly the price of gold is the last thing CB are worried right now, beside they will have to keep printing either to subsidies spending or to prop up the stock market, ad to that interest rate at zero and you can see where we are heading .

yes bought and sold for tiny profit but trust me, have no intention to buy again...

Most of you expecting the holly grail news which will double AVCT sp, well good luck with that. As I said not invested here therefore I honestly wish to be totally wrong on this...and sorry to speak my mind.

With a test kit still on prototype stage, when dozens of company have invaded this market, including the big names preferred by the UK gov.
The Affimers story still to take off ...if it will, need clinical trials and all that..
Avct was as low as 16p at the begin of the year, yest after toady carnage it may bounce but in my opinion the trend going forward is down. If you are here for the long term, you may as well write off your cash on this.
Just an honest opinion, i have no interest I am not invested and will never be. plenty of biotech out there with better prospects. The share had his moment driven by news expectation but momentum is gone. the market is selecting the winner from the losers in the biotec space now that we are reaching the final stage of covi saga. A vaccine will come out by Autumn and some antibody medicine already on trial are coming out soon, it is out there in the domain, everybody with a little interest in where is investing his/her cash know this. Avct came in this space late, had its days come on from 16p to 220, with no money to show for this rise and remote prospect to come up with some revenue in a crowded space. sorry to be frank i speak my mind for the sake to have a balance view.

I Saw the interview with GSK CEO and indeed it was surprising how he openly didn't deny that vaccines may not work at all.
In my opinion there are 2 reason for this. First a vaccine as not been found yet and may never be found, so is understandable that someone in his position is a bit cautious about a covi19 vaccine, second with this kind of viruses there is always a chance that vaccines don't work all the time due to the virus mutations. As this virus is new scientist can only speculate on its behaviour with a degree of certainty but not 100%.
In my opinion is likely a vaccine will be found and probably there will be a slow uptake, but given time once realised that it is safe, possibly 50% of the world population will end up getting the vaccine.
From what I understand they are speeding up the vaccines, in that they are starting to produce millions of doses without knowing if it will work but they are still following the 3 phases clinical trials, please let me know if you know differently.
In any case if a vaccine won't work unfortunately, for the first peoples that will take it, soon everybody will know, so one hopes that biopharms will follow the right procedures.....

Indeed RorkesDrift I was reading these novel vaccine have never gone past final approval, but honestly I am not sure why. Hopefully with this emergency caused by covi-sars2 there will be a speed up of clinical trials, if anything there are much more money available and some biopharms are already producing the vaccines without knowing if it will works. From what I managed to gather from information here and there, it seems that there are 2 main issue with vaccines, one is tolerability and the other lent of AB protection.
A good point of RNA/DNA based vaccines is to be easy accepted by the host environment, and very easy to produce in large quantities, therefore possibly the down side would be how strong and how long will the AB protection will last. It seems to me that scientist are aware of theses issue and are trying with success, to present the host cell (in order to produce AB) with more than one type of protein (like only the covi-s spike) including other RNA materials. This approach would guaranty a stronger and more diverse immune response but there is a debate on how long will it last . Of-course unfortunately nobody can say for sure how long one person immune system can fight a virus especially a new virus like covi-sars2. This is also valid for antibody test-kits and I wonder who is going to be interested, to spend some cash to buy test-kits that will tell that maybe you are immune or maybe not.
Going back to the Oxford group they are using another approach/technology not novel vaccine . Indeed using a vector virus presents its problems, I have my theory on why this is, but is just abstract and will definitely keep it for my self. The fact is that many vaccines have already been produced with vector viruses and so maybe some groups prefer to chose the safe but sure to make the money approach, maybe not hopefully time will tell.
About therapies from my humble knowledge looks like the serum is the more effective of all but unfortunately the more difficult to implement so it looks like for large scale therapeutic, it comes down to AB, effimers and proteins, among other drugs like remdesivir, which in my opinion they are trying to recycle to the masses to get back the money spent in the first place.
To conclude my apologies to talk so unashamedly on this subject, if all of us can make even a small contribution on this matter, i am sure we can defeat all diseases.

read latest Inovio RNS, they are looking to produce a vaccine but their DNA approach as also the effect to bind to the covi-s spike and neutralise the connection with ACE2 receptor.

But as I said they are not the only one , you can imagine ....there are dozens of biopharms right now, trying to come up with the best they have to get rid of this virus.
Another is Sorrento Therapeutics., they are trying to come up with a therapeutic drug and also a vaccine. Same principle spike binding and neutralise connection with ACE2 receptor.
Then a proteins plant base vaccine that I suspect will work on the same principle of spike binding is coming up from IBIO....
Anyway I too am not a scientist and possibly been a scientist is going to help only till a point.... We will see which and if there will be a winning drug coming up against this virus, or if the virus will attenuate in to mere seasonal cold or even better disappear completely (improbable).

So I get it protein are complex molecules and in short affimers are chemicals engineered to bind to the virus spike. Now beside the fact that this virus has to be fought also with stimulation of T-cell productions by any potential drug, meaning that apparently not only the drug as to neutralise the virus but also it as to induce the host cells to produce T-cell and possibly Killer cells (hopefully I understood this correctly in my researches) It does appear that avct as a big challenge ahead if successful in producing an effective drug before any other bio-pharma out there. I read that there are other pharmaceuticals out there that have managed to neutralise the covi -s spike and some of these companies, in their clinical trials have also gone further.....About the share price well can't be only about the test-kit potential, because on the day of affimer binding property as therapy 15th May, the share price rose almost 30%.
Moreover I am looking more and more at avct web site and how well it is choreographed, how they make sure that not just RNS are published but also lots of news flow and interview and I am thinking, where this guys find the time to do all this fantastic research and discoveries in the biotechnology fields, while at the same time be all over the news with interviews and marketing mavericks? Boooo they are amazing.

Well what can I say, it seems that some of you like to tailor out part of my original post, to insert their answer and present it to the board, like a genetically modified answer. My apologies If last remarks at the end of my original post on test-kit sounded a bit sarcastic, it was not my intention. What I am trying to understand is if theses affimers are basically proteins or something more???
There are dozens of bio-companies working with proteins out there, and although the imagines presented by avct web site of these affimers is very futuristic, fascinating or whatever......in the end if they are working simply with proteins, I personally cant see this massive potential for now, until its clinically proved that their drug will work.
I am not trying to change your opinion whatever it may be, I was only trying to find a clue on this affimer therapeutic technology.

First of all to eliminate any conspiracy theorist I would declare my position here, I have no shares on avct, I bought here late at 140 and sold at the same price (penny more penny less).
Now here is the numbers and my analyses:
On test-kit lets take a look at the current market and especially competitors.
There are so many companies out there producing covi19 diagnostics that I have lost count, some of these companies have financial muscles and huge brand potential that dwarf that of avct. It seems governments are incline to chose the big brands when it comes to spending money on testing and moreover, they don't seem to happy to splash the cash on testing in the first place.
The antibody test will be used mainly for front line staff and especially in conjunction with analyses and research on this virus, moreover it is not excluded that it may be available for free on NHS to the wide population, but before going to far with these predictions, there is to consider what is the social consequences of classify and inevitably stigmatising people with no SARS-covi2 from people asymptomatic, pre-symptomatic etc.
For this reason I doubt most government will carry on testing , once scientist have understood how this virus behave.
So assuming that avct test is destined for the retail market only , now how much will it cost and how many will be sold lets say this year?
About pricing a straight forward calculation would be to price in all costs, decide a break-even point in time, and then take it from there with pricing , promotions and so on.
The difficulty with this projection comes from the many variables of this market and includes the unpredictability of this virus. In other words How long people will buy this product for and of course at what price. But just to understand better this market lets say, If this test-kit was sold for free, how many people will get one and for how long?
......Are you starting to understand were I am going with this?
The other covi19 related side of avct businesses is the Affimers therapeutic potential .
I have listen and read some of avct presentation on this matter and I felt disorientated for the complexity of the subject matter. Wow....Affimers what invention! I am taken by this discovery, but then I ask my self would I invest in something that I don't understand? And this is my problem this is what holds be back, the potential is huge but I am no scientist would I put my bet on something that I don't comprehend at all?
So to conclude in my opinion the fundamentals of avct are solely based on affimers technology and don't exclude buy back at some point. Please if are going to reply to this post, by contradicting with my point of view on test-kits I want you to know that I am sorry and surely you are right.
Anyone else interested to have an open debate on affimers is welcome.
