These endless price predictions are REALLY tedious. No-one has a clue. Just look back at yesterday's closing posts when several were predicting a 20-30% uplift on today's opening. Yeah right.
The one thing to consider here is how Tim can say with apparent certainty that a deal will be done this year. The simple answer is he can't. Unless it has already been done and they're just tying up the legalities before RNS'ing.
He may be confident a deal will be done, but that's not quite the same thing.
As we know from our personal lives, things often look like a done deal (e.g. a house move inching to completion), only for some last minute hitch to scupper things. The same was true of Incanthera where Tim also happens to be CEO. A game-changing product roll-out with Marionnaud (A S Watson) looked like a dead cert, until some last minute patent infringement case gave Watsons cold feet and they pulled out at the 11th hour.
I'm not saying a deal won't happen in 2025. I'm just questioning aloud how Tim can put a timeline on it - seemingly with such certainty. In short, we've nothing concrete (other than his word) until it's signed on the dotted line.
And before anyone accuses me of deramping, I'm not. I've held IMM since 2018, topping up in 2022 and am currently in profit. I intend holding to see what happens. But unlike some on here, I don't regard this as a slam dunk. The wheels could easily fall off still, despite the potential rewards still outweighing that risk for me at the moment.
