I guess the share price hasn't run away (yet!), as most of this was to be anticipated from previous announcements. Good TU though. Looking very positive for FY.

CauldStream7 - there's news & there's relevant news. Yes, we might be told the trial start date within the next month or so. No, it won't move the share price. Only a successful trial outcome (or speculative froth in the run up to the readout) will do that.

Elonmusky99 - remember your prediction of 30 June? - "teens in less than 4 weeks". Well, we're over a week and a half in, and it's not looking too promising. That said, our wager still stands - and your Tesla awaits, should you be proved right. Hope you'll still have the money to buy mine, if things don't work out? You could always sell a few million of your Opti shares I guess.

"News on trials are imminent". Firstly, it should be "is imminent". And secondly, NO news on trials is imminent. We're years away still.

Wildbunch - Don't see why it's so difficult to understand really. Selling now would create a huge loss for me PERCENTAGE-WISE. But as a proportion of my total holdings, IMM remains small enough for me not to be unduiy bothered either way. And certainly not motivated enough to spend time trying to oust Tim McDim.

I wouldn’t feel better as I’d be staring at a huge loss. My best hope of reversing this is to hold & hope the price multibags from its current doldrums nearer P2/3 readout. Won’t stop me being critical of Tim McDim though. He has misled investors several times with woefully inaccurate statements & consistently misfounded optimism. If you can’t see that, you really are blinkered IMHO.

CauldStream7 - you may well be right. However, your own post shows that Tim's past statements have been highly unreliable & misleading. So why should we all suddenly start believing him now?

Fela96 - you carry on whining. And I'll carry on ignoring you from now on. Despite my asking you many times, you've never adequately explained why you continue to hold, given all your reservations here. Your justification just now to Dontshootme really doesn't cut it: "I'm hoping that the holdings themselves aren't iffy, just the market's perception of them". To me, your posts betray the fact you're in your twenties, lacking any long-term practical investment experience. It all reads a bit like theory out of "Investment for Dummies". Anyhow, good luck wherever you decide to park your funds. But maybe cut the moaning if, at times, it looks like it isn't working out. That really is my very last on the subject, however much you goad me.

WRONG! We should investigate the causes, decide whether they're likely to be permanent or not and if so, sell. Not endlessly bleat on about it. I've never buried my head in the sand. Nor been blindly optimistic about SMT thank you. No-one can be certain what the future holds here. But they need to make up their mind and act accordingly. Not constantly moan about underperformance whilst remaining heavily invested.

Wildbunch - you're right. I will dismiss it. Firstly, because as you yourself say, the valuation is "Always assuming that the drugs work". A big IF, as we know. Secondly, the CURRENT market price factors in everything you say, then discounts it to take into account the likelihood of it all happening. The only time IMM's share price will increase tenfold (and some!) is if the Lupuzor P2/3 trial meets all its endpoints. In which case, any bidder would be likely to have to shell out significantly more than 25p a share.

And I haven't a clue why SMT remains one of fela96's largest holdings (according to him - I think I'm safe in assuming it's a him). He constantly highlights its under-performance against "US markets", selecting "random" timeframes to back up his argument. (Hint: It helps if your starting point just happens to coincide with a recent period of severe underperformance!) We all know SMT has underperformed recently and that if you take today's price (rather than, say, 2021's) as your starting point you can make a case for long term underperformance. But if - for example - you'd bought back in 2015/16 and sold 5 years later, you'd have MORE THAN QUADRUPLED your money. Like most investments, some of it boils down to timing - and luck. If you haven't been blessed with either and don't see the position changing any time soon, there's a simple answer: Sell up and move on. And if - as fela96 also claims - you think things will eventually improve, maybe stop dwelling on the past and look to the future. Anyhow, I fear fela96 gets a frisson of excitement any time someone gets drawn into his argumentative games. I've said my fill now - and countless times before. So let's all concentrate on the future. Or simply sell up, reinvest elsewhere & post on another board instead.

You're 'avin a larf. Why would ANYONE pay more than TEN TIMES the current market cap? I mean REALLY.

I think Dontshootme meant UK investors were likely to be more wary of "growth" stocks & funds right now. And despite SMT's US-centric weighting, its FTSE 100 listing probably means it has a relatively high proportion of UK investors.
