Dontshootme - I'm reluctant to take issue with fela96 yet again, as (s)he always likes to have the last word (only not always a very logical one). But here goes anyway: fela96 said earlier today: "If SMT's correction had been worse than the index, to the same extent that its rise was greater, then it would be on par with the index right now." That's simply wrong I'm afraid. Say a share rises 50% in the same period that an index rises 25%. And for simplicity's sake, assume both were priced at 100 to start with. The share now stands at 150 and the index at 125. Then say the share drops by 50% and the index by 25%. That means the share price would stand at 75p and the index 93.75p. But I'm sure (s)he 'll have an answer for why this is wrong, 'cos that's what fela 96 enjoys most. Just to say I won't bother replying to it though, as life's too short.
