Just checked - yes it is a default that can be removed or the amount altered. I saw the added amount, but being 'early' the day after new years eve, I thought it was to do with 'gift aid' but obviously wasn't due to the £34 figure .

not this year, but with a continued level of profitability or greater, and a continuation of the preferred buyback policy, would make £1 inevitable at some point.

All those posters including Fleccy ,the numbskull blindleadblind. and others (you know who you are) moaning about share buybacks being ' a waste ' have disappeared from making such posts

The entry amount has remained at £10 since the start many years ago.

Reached today for the FTSE 100 - greatly benefiting my portfolio in 2025 and for my largest 2 holdings (in terms of current value) - HSBC and Lloyds.

In terms of what a stock owes me, SMIF has become the greatest amount after making many purchases in the 80's (didn't bother to post them all, being in the same ballpark in terms of price). Basically I decided to park a lot of share sale proceeds into SMIF, but now have an average in the 80's after buying as low as 69.

gamblers do not 'need rewarding' - they need pitying having pushed the Met1 investment companies forward valuation to over £400 million at one point.

There are no rewards to shareholders at this moment in time - the investment portfolio would need to show that loss making for Met1 will be coming to an end

A decade ago had gold production but was still making a loss on its operations.

At the time operating costs were not much lower than the gold price at the time making it a highly leveraged play against the gold price.

Since then gold has gone up from about 1,300 dollars per oz to the current about 4,300 dollars per oz.

The question is if the Vantage mines were one day put into production again, how low can production costs be kept to maximise the leverage against the current gold price, and would Vantage sell at a give away price or would it be a fair value price taking certain considerations into account.

This has been for me - only started investing in it this year (April) picking up shares as low as about 172p, so with the shares currently at an all time high, already sitting on a large percentage increase in capital value and in addition have already received a good dividend.

Yes HFEL has a great dividend which has meant a massive income for me in the years I have been a shareholder.

in addition the market has given me the opportunity to pick up plenty of sub £2 shares and sale point prices.
