It would seem from the post from Vas this morning, at 07:43, that both CyanConnode and Crystal, have been engaged in the provision of Gateways, in various towns is Assam State.

CyanConnode have to date, successfully provided 265 Gateways, in various towns, for the Assam project. While Crystal have to date provided 270 Gateways, in various towns, for the Assam project.

CyanConnode are providing Gateways for 11 towns, while Crystal are providing Gateways for 15 towns.

Just an observation Vas, that I noticed on page 69, under " Smart metering initiatives," concerning UHBVNL, in relation to timelines.

From the report:-

" UHBVNL has already undertaken implementation of 2.45 lakh smart meters until March 2022."

The original " Indo - German Energy Program " report that you have kindly posted, has a published date of November 2022 on the front. The " UHBVNL has already undertaken implementation of 2.45 lakh smart meters until March 2022 " passage, leads me to believe that this particular section was written prior to March 2022. Maybe even during 2021, if you take into concideration how long it would take to install 245,000 smart meters.

With a 107 page document, compiled over a period of time, there maybe some changes in technology, or company situations, from when the document was started, to when it is finalised and published.

It is just an observation Vas, that I thought I would pass-on. The smart meter landscape is changing all the time.

Thank you for the extensive report. And as you say, it may be a bit out of date, but who know's. The three case studies of Indian DISCOM's, I have yet to fully digest, so please excuse me if I do not comment further, as yet.

But I will comment on the " RF mesh canopy network is emerging as the latest trend." I would not call the solution that has between 20%/25% of the installed smart meter base in India, at the moment, " ..... as the latest trend." Would you?

The headline from this document is the " Indo - German Energy Program," so I do not know, at this stage, if the report is targetted specifically towards the two countries.

By quickly reading through the contents, there are various companies mentioned, i.e. ENEL - Italy, CenterPoint Energy - USA, the UK SMIP Program, various Indian DISCOM's, so I will have a browse and if there is anything I think worth a comment on, I will let you know.

...... status report, updated on 16th June, 2023, there have been 22,98,73,281 ( 229,873,281 ) smart meters that have been Sanctioned and 3,65,07,877 ( 36,507,877 ) smart meters that have already been Awarded.

So the Electricity Smart Meter Programme roll-out in India, of circa 250m smart meters, is progressing gradually towards its goal, for " ..... the procurement of 250m by March 2025 ..... " as reported in the Zeus " The Smart Choice " document, dated 7th March, 2023, which has previously been posted on this bb.

So " Steady as she goes," as they used to say.

...... status report, updated on 16th June, 2023, Maharashtra State has two projects that are ongoing.

One for the MSEDCL Discom, for 2,24,88,866 - total smart meters sanctioned ( 22,488,866 smart meter opportunity ) but non awarded, as yet. The other is for the BEST Discom, for 10,75,881 - total smart meters sanctioned ( 1,075,881 smart meter opportunity ) with 10,75,890 ( 1,075,890 being awarded.)

A very significant project in Maharashtra, overall, I might suggest.
