" A critical component of CyanConnode's hardware, is the microcontroller unit ( MCU ). CyanConnode currently uses the FG12, which combines an energy-friendly MCU, with a highly integrated radio transceiver, supporting sub-GHz. CyanConnode is now transitioning to FG25, which is a wireless system-on-a-chip ( SOC ), ideal for long-range, Sub-GHz wireless connectivity, for smart metering. The FG25 with its larger memory footprint, will also scale with customer demand and expanding networks and is thus essential for the large volume projects, currently under tender.

Other types of silicon, used by some of CyanConnode's competitors, include FG13 and FG23, which only have memory of 512K flash and 64K RAM. The FG23 is a far smaller memory footprint device and is not suitable for Wi-SUN. I believe you are both correct in your reading of the FG23/FG25 situation. I seem to remember reading in one article about this, that using FG25 would give an advantage over using FG23.

But FG23, may be perfectly satisfactory for the products that WirePas and other companies want to provide, both financially and practically.

The EDF/Bihar discussion earlier today, is a long standing smart meter contract, that has been developing since the contract was launched, during 2018 and looks like, at least to me, that it was one of the early multi-million smart meter projects awarded by EESL, during that period.

Some of them, it would seem, were not developed fully, as sometimes happens.

A brief report published during March 2022, on the Bihar project and the milestone achieved on reaching 500,000 smart meter installations, in Bihar.

For many years now, the likes of WirePas, EDF and Trilliant, have all been identified at one time or another, as main competitors of CyanConnode. Successful companies, in their own right.

But they and other companies, have not stopped CyanConnode from achieving, we are informed, of between 20%/25% of the installed smart meter base in India, at the moment. No mean feat, for a Company the size of CyanConnode.

Vas, I mentioned BCITS in my headline, having collaborated alongside CyanConnode, on the 2 Rajasthan smart meter projects. BCITS have qualified on the REC Empanelment List, at number 13, offering a Cellular and RF solution.

The Empanelment List was not viewed as important, by some on this bb, when the concept was first put forward, but has developed into the/a bench-mark of achievement, going forward, for smart meter companies who want to get involved within the smart meter roll-out, in India.

Long may it continue.

It is true Vas, that Wirepas have a proven product, in Europe mainly, in their field of expertise. But we are waiting to see where Wirepas position themselves, within the Indian Smart Meter roll-out. As of yet, I do not believe that Wirepas have, at the moment, identified with a Partner infrastructure in India, other than BCITS.

But they may be successful, in India, but in what area, we have yet to find out.

That is interesting about the " .... 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G ..... " because I mentioned it yesterday in connection with the UK smart meter roll-out. So it is also a consideration in India and possibly globally, also. But at vary paces.

So it is good to know that CyanConnode have been looking at this development for over three years now.

No problem tonyj. But to pick up on the point that you have made, I look at it differently.

Personally, I feel there is more than enough information given to share-holders/perspective share-holders, through various outlets, to make up their mind as to whether or not they want to be invested/stay invested in CyanConnode.

After that, if they take any notice of what is written on this, or any other bb, for or against, without researching the Company fully and understanding the risks and timelines that have to be taken into consideration when investing, then investing in shares, in my opinion, is not for them.

You should never invest in shares during one month and expect to be retired on a beach somewhere, the next month. It does not happen like that.

In my opinion, of course.

some up-to-date information, at the time, about the cyanconnode/adani situation, was provided in the hardman&co " acceleration and revenue uplift for fy24 and beyond " published on march 21st, 2023.

from the report:-

" adani newsflow should not affect cyanconnode."

" in early february 2023, the uttar pradesh power utility, madhyaanchal vidyut vitran nigam ( mvvnl ), disclosed that it had cancelled adani group's bid to win a contract to supply c7.5m smart meters. the reasons for the decision to cancel the adani consortium bids, were not disclosed. the decision may or may not be related to the wider documented controversy, surrounding the adani group.

" cyanconnode will not be adversely affected by these developments, as it was not directly supplying adani for integration into meters; adani was acting as a re-seller of cyanconnode's products to the utilities. other bidding parties for these uttar pradesh contract include l****n&toubro ( part of schneider electric ) and intellismart, which are also partners of cyanconnode.

" the broader point to be made here, is that the performance or outcome of any individual partner, should not exert any particular impact on cyanconnode's progress in the indian programme. cyanconnode is working with a range of prime contractors, including meter manufacturers and large epc's and, quite often, it is a designated supplier for multiple partners in the same regional tenders. we believe this diversification and neutral stance, will continue to leave the company well positioned."

cyanconnode are in a very different position now, than they were when the orignal tamil nadu tender, was effectively cancelled, or " lodged," as they referred to it, all those years ago.

and it is to the credit of the senior management of cyanconnode, that the company is in the position that it is. it did not just happen. it has taken years to achieve.
