RE: Thailand/Bangkok26 Jun 2025 11:43
Good morning gizmo, tonyj and all.
As I highlighted recently and today, Thailand and Bangkok in particular, have had/are having, difficulties/complexities with their electricity infrastructure, which according to the report provided this morning, is estimated to take 10 years to complete. So still some way to go.
CyanConnode have been active in Thailand, since 2019, with the last order of three, I think, arriving in February 2024.
From the February 2024 RNS:-
John Cronin - Executive Chairman ( at the time ) of CyanConnode commented:-
" I am pleased to announce this latest LoA from JST, which not only broadens our engagement in the Thai market, but also demonstrates the expansion of our Omnimesh product range, to include a standards-based Cellular solution. This important development, with a standards-based Cellular product, gives our HES both RF and Cellular capability."
Derek Stamp, CEO of JST commented:-
" We are pleased with the continued success with CyanConnode, on the project in Thailand, which has resulted in a ground-breaking product, that has met the demands of its deployment environment. JST's Partnership with CyanConnode underscores our commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology, to address the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the Thai market."
One of the challenges within the Thai market, was the adaption of CyanConnode's Omnimesh technology, " ...... which has been integrated into Forth's electricity meters and Oracles meter data management solution, using the frequency bands of 442 and 447MMHz, allocated to the Thai energy utilities, by The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission ( NBTC ) of Thailand." Taken from the December 2019, RNS.
So a different wave-length adaption, for CyanConnode solutions, for the integration into the Thai smart meter projects.
CyanConnode/JST/Forth are at the moment, working for the MEA ( Metropolitan Electricity Authority ). But I seem to remember, it was mentioned in a CyanConnode presentation some time ago, that they may also have an aspiration to work with the PEA ( Provincial Electricity Authority ) at some time in the future. Let us hope so.
Good Luck gizmo, tonyj and all.
LTI.
