Saudis want to bring the March OPEC meeting forward to Feb to address the demand issues but the Russians not agreeing to it. Saudis think demand is growing but at a declining rate.

Casino result was when it went from 168 to 38.
At least 50p still holding despite the general mood

I guess we have to wait for March OPEC and run down US inventory

Well the drop from 168 to 38 didnt make me sell. I will be holding my longs until the takeover, strikes, new ceo etc. Might switch off for a bit and let the shorts do whatever they are going to do.

Think shell generally report better than consensus.
Oil prices obviously have fallen recently (novel coronavirus) but market generally sees that as oversold and eg., wti currently rising, up 1.1% at 53.40.
General sentiment recently impacted by Davos but Shell has well executed clean energy plans and the world recognises oil doesn't go away, its just produced cleaner and more efficiently. I will top up if it drops more but think we have 'double bottomed'..

Saudi's maintain real demand is growing, but at a reduced rate. That gives a completely different outcome ie prices will rise. Presumably OPEC in March under pressure to agree volumes that support higher prices?

..and as everything including the kitchen sink has been thrown at it, just one delivery against the comms plan and the screw turns to the upside
