I'm assuming a high probability that the GDXJ rebalance is December 19?

Apologies if already discussed, but I'm wondering whether Greatland can be considered for GDX ( I think these are decided a week before the rebalances ) ?

I couldn't see anything that would clearly preclude them?

I agree Culpepper. My daughter's school had a Nativity, and at the interval they had a 'guess the number of sweets in the jar' competition. Of course I told them straight up it was a waste of time, and that we'd find out soon enough during the second half of the performance whether Joseph and Mary got somewhere to stay, but would they listen? No they kept on and on just scraping around filling the time with fun things.

I'm going for Tuesday 2nd December - my theory is due to the sheer number of times "Tier 1" will be written - that's a lot of i's to dot and t's to cross.

My understanding of a farm-down is that the larger company coming in will take a large proportion of ownership, but will also take on the costs of development. I obviously don't know if this is the case, but putting it at say, 70%, then the incoming company would take that percentage of Conrad & EMEs stakes but then they would do all the heavy lifting through to eventual development. Occasionally the smaller company can receive a bit of cash as part of the deal. With EMEs much smaller stake, it's always possible that a deal could be reached to relinquish the whole lot? I'm just completely speculating based on what I've seen before but I'm intrigued to find out what the news is. I'm in here for a very small stake. It's all about the size numbers on Monday ( if announced) .....good luck everyone.

Greatland wouldn't be in the position they're in without the involvement of backers such as Wyloo. While it would be naive to think that Wyloo consider PIs in any of their decisions, they're backing GGP with huge financial resources and I'm happy to hang onto the coat-tails of their investment strategy to see Greatland complete the Havieron project.

Nuwanda, I always invest in a complete frenzy - hitting random keys and shouting at the same time. The technique is not to everyone's liking but I think always choose something that the market makers won't expect.

I've top sliced LLOY only twice in the last couple of years, both with the intention of buying back in when it 'inevitably' drops back. Each time it's been at a 52 week high, but each time it's just plowed on, never dropping back!! Mine this time was mid 86s. Anyway, as you say, we are all expecting bargains come the budget. So you know the FTSE will instead reach new highs, and then we'll all be caught out by something about a week later.....

GGP seem notably correlated to the gold price too - tracking it up and down. Believe me, I've been staring at it for days when I should be working.

It's been four weeks since the announcement some news of progress could be very soon, but surely these deals and agreements are complex, with due diligence from all parties being required? I would have thought the first news would be that they are in extended talks with one particular party.
