"For a vaccine that would be widely deployed against COVID-19, FDA says it expects sponsors to demonstrate that the vaccine is at least 50% effective in a placebo-controlled trial."

WHO have indicated that they want to see very high efficacy rates - I seem to recall it is 90% or higher. However the FDA has set the bar at 50% - so I can understand the reluctance.

Meanwhile the Moderna antibody vaccines trial seem to indicate that a two shot vaccine only lasted 13 weeks in rats.

In at least one country, I read the healthcare and elderly would be vaccinated first (not the UK).

As for the heat, yesterday was the first really good day for some time. Son made it south via a convoy on the military road as the A83 was still closed yesterday. It got to 21C here which was lovely.

TF, I read that the other day - I think that means that DNA based vaccines may hold the key for future immunity. Fingers cross the Government stump up some cash for Scancell's project, building upon prior research and providing potentially longer lasting immunity to the most vulnerable.

Just wanted to say two things. First that Naples Florida is indeed a lovely place. Have you explored the live web cams streaming? It appears there are quite a few now, providing you a taste of what it is like, without being there.

Secondly, I hope all goes well for Wednesday, thoughts will be with you. I've got my fingers cross that everyone will get as many shares as Scancell can send our way.

Thanks C7, my platform is quite confusing, and I know of at least two holders who were not informed until days after an email and a long phone call from me.

They also did not say anything about utilising CREST voting for the Resolutions. I could find no features and only found out this after the deadline that I could not go directly to the registrar.

I truly hope that Scancell do not confuse lack of votes cast with disinterest.

I think we have all misread things at some point, even if not recently.

My son also thought he'd been given the full allocation yesterday. He was already buzzing from a job interview with a firm who are based near where he is relocating next month.

My son got excited over an email which he thought meant he'd been given all he requested. I'll gently set him straight this morning. Like I've seen others do, he got very excited that a 1p/share rise would mean he'd make more than he would ever have imagined. He had the decimal point in the wrong place. Easily done that. :)

Having reread the notice, just a few points from the circular
1. Attendance - r - As such, Shareholders should note they are not entitled to attend the General Meeting in person unless notified otherwise via the Company’s website at www.scancell.co.uk and an announcement via a Regulatory Information Service. I have not seen anything.
2. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Directors have taken the decision that voting on the Resolutions at the General Meeting will be taken on a poll, rather than a show of hands, to ensure that Shareholders’ proxy votes are recognised. (proxy to be named as the 'Chairman of the Meeting')

Plus AB124, that is good to know, I thought I read that those in the placing got two dips, but perhaps I misread it as even the new holders (eg institutions), rather than prior holders.

I've not received any communication about the allocation, so I plant to be happy with what I get as it will reduce the average cost / share for me.

Hi all, I have been on an adventure today, wearing new clothes from the birthday. Road was closed south, so journey to Newcastle interview was via the Dunoon ferry.
It has given the car a good run.

Discussed our hopes for the OO on the way. My hope is that prior holders were given first dibs, with those new from the placing taking up what was left. Between us, we asked for a fair number and I would be very glad to have all. My funds are still in the account so no clue yet as to how many I'll be given. (IG platform).

Fingers crossed for everyone - I hope you get more than you really expected. If Scancell raise all the funds projected, it means they won't need to raise any more for quite a while.

I am so sorry the news was not better for you and hope the weeks ahead provide the insight you need. I hope that you had good rest and enjoy today - now doubt there will be news next week.

Violindog - I am so sorry for you loss. Though it may take longer to recover than you might expect, I hope that you find the joy your parents would have wanted for you.
