100,000 shares bought at 100k£ and 90,000 shares bought at 89k£, around 16:30 yesterday. Must mean that someone still thinks the prospects are very positive. Anyone else still having problems with google finance showing real-time information? Cordially Lionel

From the 16 June RNS: " It is intended that dealings in Mariana Shares on AIM will be suspended at 7.30 a.m. on 26 June 2017 and that trading on TSXV will halt prior to markets opening in Canada on 26 June 2017. The last day for dealings in, and for registration of transfers in Mariana Shares will therefore be 23 June 2017." I'm also holding, by the way... let's wish ourselves good luck with this choice. My guess FWIW: I can't help feeling that there will soon be some positive news coming out from Hot Maden which SAND will have been holding off until after the merge is completed... they will need to prove to their shareholders that this will be a good deal for them. It's been a bit of a tense few weeks, so I am just pleased that today has passed smoothly, and that it's all quiet on the MARL front (and all quiet on the SAND front too), and that the SP is just holding steady for a while. It could have taken a battering. Time to regroup. More news will come from Hot Maden in due time, and perhaps elsewhere, SAND will realise that they have got themselves a real deal, and we can look forward to a steady lift from here (IMHO/WTFDIK as they say). If any posters did attend the EGM, it would be good to get some feedback on the atmosphere of the meeting. Cordially Lionel

With SAND now at 3.63$ and exchange rate at 0.7833$/£, the merger offer equates to 101.91p, so only a small premium to the current mid-price. This leads me to believe that a yes vote will have very little effect in terms of further attempts at arbitrage. Nonetheless it will mark a new period of certainty for MARL-SAND (or at least a phase of less uncertainty), so perhaps improved confidence, and with it new demand. I have no idea what effect the substantial arb positions will have. Cordially Lionel

Here is a (fairly) direct quote from about 7m00s onwards: "Aerospace is an area that we believe will grow rapidly in the future for us.... We see huge growth potential in this area in the future" Mr Kerkham is usually quite measured and not given to hyperbola, so I very much like his use of the words "huge growth potential" Cordially Lionel

While I should caution that I do not understand what goes on with these trades, there seems a big difference in the bid price at which relatively small numbers of shades are being offloaded this morning (around 98p), compared with the price of 103p or so that big purchasers have been paying in the past 24-48 hours (see the late reported purchases yesterday of 136,000 shares for £140k at 103p and 150,000 shares for £155k at 103.35p). I'm going to take this as a sign that institutions with big pockets still consider this as a good buy. Having said which, I am starting to feel a shade nervous about the vote, and whether holding is the right thing in the short term. Quite a bit at stake here. All will be revealed, very soon.
