Suppose a II came along with $30m to invest once we have proven commerciality, but said "I'll take a punt and put 10% of it into your coffers now, providing you give me 15% discount". The thing is, if it is unsolicited, the investor is less likely to be a short term turnaround merchant.

I think the initial shock/turbulence is passed so hopefully, ASX trading will not be to the detriment of the sp.
Even so, DW is normally pretty open about his reasoning, and I'm hoping for something reassuring at around 10:30pm (UK).
The Iceroad should be past the halfway mark by now, so I would not be surprised to get an update on that too within the next 7 days and assuming we are on schedule (or better) the sp curve will increase (IMO).

About 65m sold yesterday by nervous investors who fell for the gloom merchant chatter. A similar number of shares were taken up by confident investors who were able to increase their holdings. That's life.

If this was unsolicited as stated, it was more a Cash Offer than a raise. Not so likely to be traded as with Sophs either. Who in their right mind would turn down an investment, which could translate into a smaller dillution on the next CR. The volume today suggests to me that this turbulence has almost run its course (days not weeks).

With ASX on halt, looks like a good move. Initial reaction was like the headless chicken. I would not be surprised to see the halt removed before ASX opens, now the position is better understood. Probably along with an ANN or RNS.

Can't really complain that DW should have missed out on the offer. To buy direct puts cash on the balance sheet, but had he/she took up shares from the market only the day traders would have benefitted. As a LTH I'm already maxed as are most LTH's (probably). Wise & prudent move.

Did I not read somewhere that this was an unsolicited request to buy-in? If so, it is likely to be a HOLD by the buyer. I wish I had that amount of reserves. The volume today suggests there is a great demand from smaller investors to enlarge their stake too. Storm in a teacup will be short lived. We will be back to Friday's position before next weekend at this rate.

For all we know, the weather forecast may be condusive for us to flowtest a third target. Perhaps we have a few more weeks on the NS than originally expected and for a few dollars more we get it done this year rather than next.

One thing to remember with ASX is that they only go to 1 decimal place and at current levels to go fron 2.4c to 2.5c is about a 4% rise. The may have only moves from 2.45c to 2.57c (.05%) but the 4% figure is a bit wild. LSE uses 3 decimals so is a more controlled ascent (or descent).

About 8m shares changed hands today (16m trades). Hardly anything. The ice road is on schedule so not likely to cause a stir. I suspect we will bounce between +/- 5% until spud. Trending upwards until then.

The market may have discounted the HRZ, but I see it as Bazinski's Legacy (or Pauls Prospect) - it is still being defined, but potentially more oil than all the conventional on our 1/2 million acre patch. This coring will be another brick in the wall.
