I agree supply of shares will runout before they could get anywhere near 30%. They would have to raise the ask in order to achieve that.

The problem we have with ONGC is that they are a state owned asset. They are not guided by stock market rules and can withhold price sensitive information for as long as it wants. Remember, they were forced into making a press release in relation to Ind-1 after the cat was let out of the bag with an announcement from the Colombian Govt.
Normal rules do not apply!

rossannan, yes in the process of being bought out! Why have you only started posting since the Friday RNS? You say your invested but the 'tone' of your posts suggest that you don't want to see a share price rise.
You don't strike me as a guy/gal who has any positivity about their investment. If your purpose is to knock investor confidence in this process then your deluded.
We are mere spectators that can leave the game at any time. What we do will not affect the outcome of the result.

Juxta, no mention of GTE but have you seen their share price and the drop on Friday. Annual low. Their CEO bought a bucket load of shares around the same time as AMER's Directors.

I see from the latest RNS that Chelverton UK Dividend Trust plc have acquired just under 24m shares. Cannot recall them having a position before but reporting a position of 1.97%. As I pointed out over the weekend it could be to private investors advantage to keep track of the numbers with these companies as it makes the trading a little more transparent. These funds will have done their due diligence and will know whether or not there is value and of course exchanging information on the 'old boys network'

willec, I guess the city knew of the 17p offer on Friday and probably knew it had been rejected so I guess there was an eagerness to play catch up on Friday. Today, although I have not kept an eye on the trading I would suggest it has been held back whilst orders are being filled. My gut feeling is that when those acquiring shares have finished then they will let it go but as you know the market is about supply and demand which I can see rising as more information is known.

York’s, my average is 12p having bought in 3 tranches from 15p down to 10p. I could walk away with a very healthy profit but as we are both agreed at this current price it is a giveaway. I do have my own option what I am prepared to sell at but that is going to be constantly reviewed as time passes. We have so much news due that may further underpin my target price.
From my experience, unless your very lucky or Walter Mitty; no one buys at the bottom and sells at the top.
Whatever investors opinions are, this is going to be a great investment for many.

York’s, ‘getting in with their luves’ Are you talking about private investors or institutions? Where do I start. Everyone is talking about producing assets. What about acreage which we hold licences for. The sum of all parts is probably more valuable than we think. Production updates soon. This will take as king as it takes in a rising oil price environment with a weak pound.
I’m getting bored of ‘educated guesses’ leave it to those that have experience and understanding of the fundamentals and value that is fair.
When I see 20-30, 40 - 50 or lucky to make 20 being posted it is more of an indication of what that poster is happy to sell at.
I have my own opinion on price but I do think it is unfair for any new investor when figures are plucked out of thin air.

Those institutions opening positions must be pi55ing themselves getting in at this price. Private investors selling at a price that has been rejected by the board.
When they have filled their bellies just watch this move. When the supply dries up those free float shares will be in stickier hands.

Surprised by some of the comments this morning regarding the initial 17p offer. I see one poster was poised on the bell at 8.01 to make a contribution to the bb but never posted prior to Friday claiming to be a lth. You would think today is the 'end game' in relation to bids. This is just the start of the whole process, today's news only confirms that.

The company have engaged the services of 2 brokers to manage any sale. You wouldn't do that if you accept the first offer that comes along. Valuation will be independently assessed which can only be good for shareholders.

Re GTE the sp is on the 12 month low and were down over 4.5% on Friday. The CEO bought a bucket load of shares in February despite the decline. Probably coincidental but perhaps some insider knowledge.
By the way I cannot see AMER releasing news that fundamentally change so much in relation to strategy and growth just to bury news on Sol-1 being non commercial. The lack of news to me is indicating the opposite but if it is better than expected then it only adds to the view that the CPO5 block is indeed ‘an ocean of oil’

LC, his/her views have only made private investors reading this board examine more closely their investment in AMER. if anything it has probably made a few more likely to buy when the markets open.
May well be a paid troll, not a very good one but what is posted here will have no bearing on the sp direction.

Some interesting thoughts on valuation on the ADVFN bb, even fsawatcher has a point. We already have partners in most of our assets. AMER do not need to go looking for offers.

Harry, some interesting thoughts. For me this can take as long as it takes and the likelihood is our assets will become more valuable in that timeframe. I can also see the PoO trading at the current level if not higher whilst interested parties determine value.
This has been a frustrating investment for me as I saw RH leaving as the catalyst for a sp reversal. However, I have never regretted the decision. Nothing wrong with being on the optimistic side of the spectrum, investors finally have the new found luxury of sitting back and watching their cash realise it's potential.
