Jtd's
the sp trend reminds me of when I held SLP. Very similar in many ways. Held them from 9p to 19p. Similar MC, generating good income, self funding, low cost extraction, failure to respond to PGM prices. Directors reluctant to initiate buyback scheme or dividend policy. Similar Geopolitical operating base.
I sold because I was frustrated that the company was sat on a pile of cash (shareholders cash) and did not seem to have any strategy of using it other than the interst from the Banks. Also largely ignored by the institutions.
I struggle to see why we are still listed on the AIM as there is a clear strategy of operating along side partners willing to fund exploration and drilling. No need for us to consider ourselves as a 'startup company. A move to the main market would attract new investors.
The BoDs seem happy wrapped up in their 'comfort zone' and not returning value to shareholders. A share buyback scheme, or a dividend policy would shake things up a little. What better opportunity to take shares off those institutions selling/reducing and eroding MC. Even a share consolidation of 10:1 would help.
However, I do see a reversal of the trend, it is just frustrating that there is no reaction to improving fundamentals. Eventually they do win through though.
SLP were trading at around 30p (last I checked) Not much has changed with the company from early last year but eventually the MC is starting to reflect true value. I think we have to remind ourselves that we are closer to 10p than we are to 20p. The sp more than reflects the poor leadership and risks associated with this company.
