That was my thoughts this morning. Looks like 19 is to become the ‘new 18’ as it look like supply has dried up. They moved the bid up this morning to free up shares.
Just my thoughts but that pattern is likely to be more difficult as the weaker holders realise a profit. Also the wider market is having an affect as some sell to chase losses/ avg down.
Looking more robust now.

Bid trading comfortably above 19 now. No drama as the clock ticks. Have the sellers at this level dried up now?

Awstin, very pleased for you. I know a few months ago you was struggling to hold. I'm sure your patience will be rewarded. My view fwiw, is the more institutions accumulate in this process the bigger the rewards for the private investor. Being held back is just part of the process and despite the frustration I see it as a positive indication.
I'm sure those most frustrated are close to their selling price so maybe a good time to finally sit back and relax as those shares being sold go into 'stickier hands'
If the institutions can drop us significantly below a price that reflects fair value, then I am sure the opposite applies.

Absolute, valuations have been discussed for many many months with the conclusion that we all have our own thoughts. Today again underpins what we already know and there are still multiple interested parties.
Many new posters here again after RNS update and hope they make the quick 10%. The shares they sell will probably end up in the hands of institutions.

Wish I had the luxury of setting targets and sell at a price I’m happy at. Although setting a price target to sell whilst the company is ‘up for sale’ does carry a high risk of not achieving max returns.
Why not set 24p to sell once that figure has been breached?
I suppose every poster here has a different strategy and of course different personal circumstances.

No worries Gamble. Amount covered is now 85k . Broker is SVS Securities. Last 30yrs have always used pigeon post and paper certificates.
2 yrs of online dealing and chose a company recommended on Moneysaving Expert.
Such is life.
No drama but at the moment the luxury of selling when I want is no longer in my hands. May work in my favour.
My tangible investment is in property so it’s swings and roundabouts and not in need of my investments to support my lifestyle.

Call me cynical, but before the Director buys...

Just my thoughts but I think an approach was made after the last director buys. After the initial sp reaction to 20p it has been walked down back to 12.
Now it’s being held back for institutions to fill their bellies.

AMER was always going to be a long term investment in returning value. 2 stuffed investment ISAs. On my holidays and just been informed my online broker has for now been suspended.
So whatever price I was happy to sell at will be governed by the FCA.
For me, longer this plays out the better. 12p average so was always going to make a good profit so have to take a pragmatic view.

There is a poster that keeps banging on about 25p, so I guess anything above 20 will be exit stage left. I suppose any selling thoughts will be based on buying price or average buying price.
Have to agree anyone selling at this price would be foolish.
That said, a profit is a profit but more investors the company attract above that price the more difficult it becomes to sell on the cheap.
Longer this takes the stronger position AMER will find itself in.

Evening Bays. I suppose we have looked at production rather than potential for valuation. Now we are looking at the asset value of the company.
AMER has shifted from a exploration company, to a producer, then to an Industry Service supplier(OBA) and a Real Estate Owner.
Many things to consider in trying to work out a valuation. Is a wholesale valuation better for shareholders or a piece by piece sale.
Hoping our 2 appointed brokers get it right for all invested here, particularly the Old Sweats that have endured years of failed promises.

Mr Bumble, ONGC seem very focused on their Colombian investment. Looking at their website ( so so slow) but ONGC Videsh have a strategy of trying to secure reserves for India’s future rather than trying to exploit current assets and ramp up production.
Maybe another explanation on why they seem in no rush to ramp up production and secure a second rig.

Bigsmoke, if you referring to the 8.3/.5 then yes after the ‘up for sale announcement by AMER. However, it is clear from the contribution from other investors here that there is a high level of experience when it comes to market rules.

Bigsmoke, away on holiday so only get to follow trades at the hotel. No data roaming for me which may be a good thing.

willec, difficult to come to any conclusion other than the UT trade made the sp look weak on a flurry of small buys. Volume pretty much average (reported to date) but the sp rising into the close is a good sign.
Number of posts today is a good sign imo, all regular contributors that probably confirms the traders and weak holders have gone. 20p will be the tough nut to crack as it moves into a different trading range and most people think of ‘round numbers’
