Any negotiations would be on the back of independent valuations of each of the assets, which will also include the potential growth. To think that the company will be in discussions with other parties based on the closing price of the share on the 18th July 2019 need to wake up. Those brokering any deal and negotiating are not frustrated private investors, The only valuation we can be sure to get right is the cash in the bank, it's up to the individual to guesstimate the value the sum of all parts.
roassannan may be right but my money is on BMO Capital Markets and Stifel Nicolaus Europe Ltd having a better understanding of valuation. To think that any potential bidder(s) will use '12p was the closing price' on Thursday as a starting point to any discussions are as deluded as those expecting AMER to be valued at £1

That only applies if the sp at the time reflected fair value. Not doubting your experience but it is not unusual for the price of a share to be manipulated before a bid. If one or more parties are interested then I cannot see anything less than 500m
No one knows how this will play out. However, I do think the directors know what is fair value. Not forgetting the institutions that will have a say.
Colombia Oil production looks like it is going into a period of consolidation. Hopefully we will benefit but the bottom line to all predicted prices is what are you happy to take.
Tbh, after the news yesterday I think the bb has been measured with good informative posts and views and generally speaking the price predictions if anything have been conservative.

my experience it would be silly to set yourself a price target until there is more information out there.

Wait, I posted it yesterday after being discussed on the advfn bb. 1% disposal or acquisition has now reportable to the market under the 8.3 rule. You don’t even have to be above the 3% threshold.
Anyone buying a total (or selling) a total of 10m shares or thereabouts will trigger a news release.

Maybe the hit on IRON will make GC want to hold out for the best return.

BH have to agree. I cannot remember being invested in a company with so much potential and great fundamentals that have a silent BoD’s.
The PR is non existent. Just hope that those appointed brokers have the experience to deliver significant value to its shareholders.
I can never decide if the BoD’s are shrewd poker players or penny arcade day trippers.

maestro, the point I was trying to make is not the value of the CPO5 block today but the value after it has been proved up. ONGC will drag their feet if they intend bidding for full ownership. At the moment the market puts no value on the block. It did climb to around 22p after Ind 1 but as you know the so fell back to a level it was prior to the discovery.

ONGC’s tender docs speaks volumes to me. The company is desperately putting the infrastructure in place after cracking Ind1. They are in no rush to secure another rig and happy to drill on the fringes of the seismic data.
100% owned and they will be drilling in all the sweet spots with 3 or 4 rig teams.
Not confident that our BoD’s can actually return value to its investors that reflect all of our assets.
Of course they can deliver value but I could broker a deal when we have been sold down for the last 2 years. Our rise today is sweet FA given the nature of the news.

f1 all too easy to forget the cash and the interest earned when considering value. In a conservative estimate a fifth of our current MC is cash. Our production, pipeline and licences are worth less than 150m.
IMO, big danger if the Lth’s selling out on the cheap thinking that a small profit is a good result.
We could potentially give away one of the biggest oil discoveries in Colombia for less than 200m.

fair play bigsmoke. I remember being a frustrated holder of Asda shares and sold out at a tidy profit when they announced their sp rise was due to the company acquiring a fleet of fishing trawlers. The day after I sold they finally admitted they were in talks with Walmart. If I held for another 12 hours then I would have been mortgage free at 25. Directors were happy enough to buy in the 20s, fundamentals have vastly improved since then so I can see valuation being much more than 20 odd pence. As we wait for news we may have further updates on the CPO-5 block unless ONGC are one of the interested parties.
Whatever the outcome, I'm in profit here but I cannot see the BoD's giving this away on the cheap. No debtors to pay, cash in the bank, profit making. Too many positives to list but certainly worth more than the 300 MC you suggest.

bigsmoke, maybe the appointment of a Canadian Bank as their advisor is part of the bidding process. No reason why this company will not attract interest from more than one bidder. Someone may well be selling down but someone is buying. Volume will flush out any positions. As a lth I thought you would have a positive outlook. Any reason why your not?

CD, totally agree. Posted similar this morning. I think it was the catalyst for the last round of director buys. From memory with the exception of the Financial Director they all bought within hours/day of one another. Of course that's only my opinion and not likely to be spoken about but it accounts for the 'radio silence' post Ind-1

Just over 33m traded so far. May get some interest from the US investors this afternoon which may see us finish strong. Weekend press speculation can only help for the opening next week. Just cannot see this being sold below 30p for the sum of all parts so price predictions are all guesswork until we have more from the BoDs

Volume over 7m now, not even 11am. Free float will be getting smaller can only see that rising as news gets absorbed.

Ask rising again, great volume. A Monday RNS on Sol -1 would be the cherry on the cake for me. Also make a few investors realise the potential if news is as expected. (long overdue news)
