willec, no doubt the institutions still feeding their bellies. The ATs have been relentless and soul destroying. However, it does make you ask why. I know we have almost doubled from our 10p low but it's only too easy to forget that the sp rallied to above 20p (or thereabouts) after the director buys. The market was valuing them at a higher price before any announcement of a sale.
The brakes have well and truly been applied here and if we can be patient we may just benefit from the II's hard work.

Is it coincidence that ONGC have ramped up their recruitment contract tenders for ONGC as AMER approach 'the end game'. Slickline services, high resolution aerial photographs of the CPO-5 block, rig for Llanos basin. The surface testing facilities tender was postponed (after queries from potential bidders) but now it appears to be full steam ahead.
It wouldn't surprise me if a deal has now been agreed for 100% ownership and control of the block and we see multiple rigs if and when AMER is sold.

Bumble, lots of pi’s loading up at 10p including me. At that price I bought a significant number. No doubt many others did the same and it would make sense if someone wanted to hedge their bets should a sale not materialise.
One thing for sure, it is only a small amount and wouldn’t surprise me if it was put on the table to further kill sentiment.

lonestag, I thought it had to be majority vote by the Board. I know main listed companies have to put it before all shareholders for any company changing decisions but if not, then I would guess the major shareholders are consulted along the sale process. One thing for sure, you or I are not going to determine the outcome. In my case, I am stuffed anyway as all my shares are locked up with administrators so I will have to accept the final offer price. That said, I am confident it will be at a price above the current range.

pp, AMER is AIM listed and does not require shareholder approval. There will be no vote from shareholder large or small. If the BoD accept or reject it then it will be their decision. I'm convinced they decided to put the company up for sale but not before loading up themselves. They may have already been in discussions but kept it between themselves in order to comply with Market rules. From memory they were loading up at a price not much below today's price hence the initial approach being rejected.

I see your entire posting history makes the same point. Many of the pre offer discussions by LTH's were well researched and informative. I would also guess that they have a level of intelligence to come to their own opinion on valuations without you having to repost the same. I agree silly valuations may draw the inexperienced and not so knowledgeable investor in but of course the opposite applies too. When this was 10p there were many new posters popping up advising investors that this was going to be a penny share.
Just let people come to their own conclusions, I couldn't care less what people post on here unless it is informative research and helpful to my investment decision making.

The market does not like uncertainty and will value AMER accordingly. The market undervalued the company when RH was selling due to the number of shares available v demand (the market)
What does matter is the price someone wishes to pay. Market valuations are irrelevant when a company is up for sale.
Personally I ignore all valuations and guesstimates. Whether you make 5% or 300% you choose to press the sell button based on your own investment strategy, personal circumstances and expectations.

Although invested in LLoyds I rarely post as it is completely dominated by Brexit chat. However, I do have strong views on PPI. Yes, there were some that were exploited but the majority have exploited claims. In my opinion, PPI was good for the economy as it put a lot of cash into the hands of people only too happy to spend it on the High Street. The Government was only too happy to encourage payouts.
I had a very close friend that was so bad at managing money he could only borrow from lenders who had payment protection in place. After the crash he was asking me for a loan to cover his mortgage as he was struggling to keep his head above water. Of course I declined. 10 years later, he has moved up on the property ladder and enjoyed several holidays funded by many many payouts. Ironically now that they have come to an end (for him) he is thinking of 'downsizing in order to release capitol.

Capital growth and dividends to one side. Some of the companies that fellow members have 'touted' on this bb have great potential. However, there is an even bigger potential that they will be asking shareholders for money on their journey to unlocking their assets. Probably SXX is a popular example to most on here. Loyal shareholders have funded the company for many years with the probable outcome that it will be sold on the cheap.
Just my opinion, despite the criticism of our Director's AMER have exploited their assets through partnerships. They have not gone to the shareholders with a begging bowl and have generated income to fund further expansion.
Always wary of tips on a bb, normally they are from members already invested in that company and any views are normally biased.

Away from AMER but a possible suitor. Activity in hedge funds taking interest has increased by 20% this year. Despite OXY share price decline the outlook appears quite bullish. When you look at the amounts hedge fund managers have invested in the company, AMER is nothing but small change. What the fund managers will insist on is growth in both revenue and assets.

Any talks with interested parties will have a non disclosure agreement in place. Usual practice as it is price sensitive to all involved. The company could say talks or progress is going well, or announce a rejected offer. My view is that we will get an announcement 'out of the blue' and can only reiterate AMER's announcement to shareholders not to sell during this process.

To all other investors in the market, if you deal online make sure you know in what name the shares are held (nominee account) make sure you can evidence your holdings and transactions and don not exceed the 85k threshold covered by the FCA.

You posts suggest that you are not certain of the value of your holdings. I see Woodford’s equity fund is being forced to close down. Does not apply to his holding in HVO and the lack of sp reaction only confirms that the city is cool to it also. My shares are tied up in SVS XO administration so unable to trade but for any investor that needs to average down an opportunity may arise if the city take a different view.
Immutex need to pull their finger out and decide whether or not to agree a sale of the technology or indeed as promised a partner for P3.

The company is up for sale and has to comply with market rules in order to make the sale more transparent and equal to all investors.

The FCA will only cover you up to 85k (from memory) so my advice would be use a close family members name and certainly use a secondary broker in order to get below the 85k

Bunsen, if they are in your name then they cannot sell them. If they have been bought in a nominee's name then make sure you keeps a record of the transaction and number of shares held. You may find that other investors like yourself have got shares in AMER held by Hargreaves so it is important that you can evidence your amount in the unlikely case of them going into administration.

Bumble, and for anyone else with online accounts, make sure you know whether or not the shares are in your name or a nominee name. If it is the latter then a nominee can effectively sell your shares without your knowledge and then put them selves or get forced into administration. If the company was in admin then your relying on them to have kept their books in order.
My advice to anyone is take regular paper copies of any holdings and every transaction. Thankfully SVS did keep an up to date record (for my investments) but if that was not the case then you would struggle proving to the FCA what sums you did invest.
