My view is a drug or treatment will emerge from a country that is not as strictly regulated as Europe and America. I believe China are closing some of their emergency hospitals. I'm sure we can learn from their experience.
I know we have to have safe medicines and follow strict regulations but sometimes when there is an urgent demand for something we sometimes 'need to bed the rules' Perhaps a blunt statement but when the US fast track drugs one of their criteria's is 'If the benefits outweigh the risks' I'm sure any late stage cancer patients would agree with that.

Morning Chelsea. Hope you are bearing up in the current crisis. I can only imagine how difficult and scary it must be for you. This sector has always been ' a port in a storm' when there is a market sell off and I would guess that investors selling here are chasing losses.
2 weeks ago I pulled all my money out of shares with a view to chose a defensive stock but as the situation has deteriorated so quickly I have decided to sit it out. It certainly brings home the value of science and research and the potential it has to make our world a better place.

Keeping schools open to allow their parents to build and construct.... not for school children to make ventilators in their science classes or students to make flat pack wards in their woodwork class..

Ruck, totally agree on with you're view on the current Government strategy. I also believe they are keeping schools open in order to gear up manufacturing and construction for the supply of much needed ventilators and hospital rooms. Trying to control 'herd immunity' before the elderly and vulnerable are exposed to the virus in the latter stages.
With the global economy and global connectivity humans have made the planet one big village.

Posted a question on this bb, yesterday and this morning. I guess without any lse member being able to answer it then there is no case for the share price to rise above the current level. Annoys me when private investors post comments 'I have my buy order for 28p' when they cannot back it up with reasoning.

In the short term with Covid 19 and Brexit can any investor see any upside that may lift the share price above the current level. Are we more likely to see sub 30 rather than 40 during this crisis?

Morning Trent. What date do you travel? Are you confident that travel restrictions will be lifted. Rooms for 2020 will have already been negotiated and contracted so not sure if the implications going forward in the short term for holiday companies.
I have a couple of friends that have gone on cruises this week expecting an email to cancel before the date of departure. That email did not arrive but was told verbally that the cruise had been cancelled just before embarkation. I wonder how many other passengers cancelled themselves allowing the travel companies to keep their cash.
I have already booked my Jet2 holiday back in December paying a voluntary hefty deposit. Wish I had waited. I’m travelling in late July but just cannot see it easing by then.

Just my opinion but I think the market see DTG a good recovery stock in this sector once the Covid 19 numbers begin to fall. Any flight companies that go under gives a bigger share to the larger companies.

BA have just announced cancellations on many European flights until the end of the month. Looking grim for carriers at the moment.

Bo, do you judge people on where they come from, their age or appearance? Clearly prejudice plays a significant part of your psyche which can affect your ability to make the correct decisions.

Trent, last year I opened an investment ISA with SVS securities. 20k into a Colombian oil company. 3 months later SVS went into admin and my ability to trade the shares were scuppered. My intention was to sell and buy DTG. When Thomas Cook failed DTG doubled in price. Needless to say I was gutted as I could have come away with a very healthy profit.
6 months later the Colombian Oil company was taken over at a much greater price than I paid for the shares. I have been grumbling for weeks that I cannot get to my cash until the funds are with another broker which is likely to be later next month.
These bb's are full of 'wannabe city slickers' full of well intended advice but the bottom line is 'lady luck' as always has the upper hand.

Trent, I would hold off with any 'cheeky top ups' at the moment. I'm looking to reinvest on the way back up. I will be happy not to catch the bottom but a buying opportunity will present itself.

Stagecoach quite right. Quite difficult to sit on your hands at this level but it has served me well in the past. Everyone has a different perspective of things and trading strategies.

Longterminvestor, I have my first tranche at below 59, quite a number of shares so happy to take the 5% but if I miss out at this level the so be it.
Direction on interest rates should have a clearer direction and I believe business confidence will start to improve going into the third quarter. I would also like to ISA wrap a tranche come April.

nuri, cannot see it being May. Broker will be announced towards the end of this month which needs approval. My understanding having spoken to them last week if approval is given then the transfer will take place to the appointed broker almost immediately and then it make take a couple of weeks for the accounts to be up and running.

nuri, exactly the same position. LC seem to be dragging their feet and in no rush to appoint a broker. I have a substantial sum in cash after one of the companies I was invested in got bought out in January. Very frustrating as I saw an opportunity to take advantage of the UK finally leaving the EU. RMG looking good at these levels.
I have spoken to LC and its looking like March before our assets are finally released. I only moved my accounts to online dealing a couple of years ago but from now on I will be dealing the old fashioned way other than investment isa.
Never again I will be using a nominee account now that I know the implications. No broker warns private investors of the risks should it go into admin. I used SVS after a recommendation from MSE, thought it was 'cast iron'
