Falky, the sp was in decline before the first lockdown back in March. From memory in the 30s .
The severity and impact of Covid was largely ignored by the wider market between January and March. If you look at the airline share prices before the fall then that would give you a timeframe of when COVID became the reality.
These are the facts. Don’t try to explain away the drop from the 70s to the 30s on the pandemic. That is lazy and selective. These are the facts!!
I will now create a new LSE account and give myself a big thumbs up so I feel good about myself.

MMs don’t push the price down. Their role is to generate trades. Price is determined by supply and demand. That’s why it is called a market.
Nice to see that private investors have more faith in the MC than Paul Ryan.

You seem a nice chap and happy to see you comfortable with your investment here but how on earth do you do your own research on the figures you post.
It is almost like it is a given fundamental. DYOR please is not good enough. It’s like my son telling me that PNEFC will be top of the premiership next year. He may be right but give me your reasoning and research to support it.

At one time this bb was probably the most relevant and well researched bb on the LSE site. Lots of research, informed posters that were investors not wannabe millionaires gambling at the casino. The bb represents a script more from fantasy island than an investment forum.
Sad to see.

Tom you will be an old git one day if you’re lucky. I am retired but still continue to pay tax on my pension that I contributed to for over a year. I pay for my own medical care and spend a great deal of my spare time helping at a local hospice when in the UK.
I didn’t sit behind a desk all my life posting and boasting on a 2 penny chat board. I didn’t have the time for such distractions. In my career prior to being an old git I managed to save several lives and held the hands of one or two children as they passed away.
You seem to have a jealous streak or chip on your shoulder about successful older people that have earned the right to put their feet up. Not the ideal character to make money from investing.
Looking back at your posting history your ego seems to get in the way of decision making. 5 yrs before the sp hits £1..... will be 50p soon...

Of course you know better but that was the analysis on Bloomberg and the FT this morning before the update but I bow to your far superior knowledge of the markets.
I always follow your posts and analysis on the LSE bb and hope to have some success.

Livestock

PNC was the driver this morning prior to the vaccine news. The sp spiked for the day before falling back after the news. Happy to be wrong but I’m sure you’re experienced enough to know what we post on the Lloy bb will have zero affect in the sp direction.
I think the market has priced in a successful vaccine now so IMO any news on that front won’t have the same affect as it did last week.
Brexit, dividend news or US politics are probably going to dictate where we are in the near term.
Also a lot of short covering going on last week which probably exaggerated rises in many companies.

Pity we didn’t get the vaccine news tomorrow as the sp was doing ok on the back of the PNC purchase of the Spanish banks US arm.
European banks must be easy pickings for the Asian or US banks.
Can see some profit taking tomorrow unless there is some unexpected news to keep the rally going.

Have to say I forgot to mention to her if my recent BP investment. I will use the quarterly dividend to pay for her holiday with the girls trips.

falky, not sure falling in love with Lloyds is a good thing if you’re an investor. No one in Lloyds will repay your loyalty.
The recent sale of shares by a director illustrates the disconnect they have with private investors.
Not sure if you have all your eggs in one basket but it would be prudent to take advantage of any CGT allowance.
Hope your guess on sp becomes a realty.

I think that is slightly patronising of Patrao. I’m sure he has the intelligence to make his own decisions. From memory he invested 100k so I think he’s doing ok in life without the advice from LSE members.

I do do my own research. Quite easy to make statements of 35 being a thing of the past or 70p in 2021.
How many investors here have mentioned PNC. Not a single mention of it on any of the popular bb’s.
Biggest financial banking deal in over 10yrs and not one single post. The driver for financials being up today. Probably accounted for some of the rises last week.

LTI, flattered that you follow me. My strategy has been to drop money in that markets as major uncertainties are illuminated one by one. Hence not going all in.
