I bought BP and LLOY last Thursday as any credible challenge of the US election subsided. I’m still mainly in cash and will cover any changing fundamentals as this current year progresses. News on a vaccine was coincidental and likely to be more news anytime now on other drugs. The Oxford vaccine is probably going to be better than the PfizerBio one with some commenting on it’s easier delivery but only time will tell.

Save you the trouble of reading my posts but I traded DTG. I didn’t say I am still invested. I was making the point that we can all be selective. I made my loss back on that trade.

but that doesn't make it a good investment. You cannot deny that even before the pandemic the LLOY sp performance was poor. For example, in Jan 2020 I bought 100,000 LLOY shares at just under 60p, the price then declined before the pandemic to around 50p. On the 13 March I sold with a huge loss at 36p. On the 19th March I bought DTG (JET2) at an intra day low of 1.94 which is now trading at £12.
I was one that was saying that the LLOY sp would fall to below 25p and it did. I also posted that I would not be happy at buying until after the US Presidential election and I did at 27.4p. Now I am gambling on the sp recovering as more and more uncertainties disappear.
We can all be selective on what we compare. Is LLOY the worst share ever? No but your comparison does not make it a good performing share either.

I’m just looking forward to the ‘37p by Friday’ quote being a thing of the past. Is it going to be ‘70p next year’

Snige, could be a host of reasons. Institutions accumulating, certainly a reversal of the sp yesterday after the US opened. Today DOW futures are up and the federal and state officials have said the election was the most secure in history. Pressure mounting on Trump reducing further uncertainty. Imo, if and when any trade deal is done with the EU is the time that UK banks will see greater gains. Not forgetting the probability of other vaccines being a success.

Similar timeframe. Certainly need the readout in early 2023. I see plenty of opportunities to take a position before then but there is always a possibility that Avion buyout IMM as the trial progresses.

eva, not denying Avion are better placed to conduct the P3 trial but have the patients been recruited yet for the centers? I could find patients suffering from Lupus but you do have to find the correct patients. That is my point. That is why a rushed trial would not be good for anyone. Those that are waiting for a successful drug and those invested.

In your opinion, what is the timeframe between getting the SPA to the P3 readout? Or Phase 4 when the money starts to roll in.

Hollybean, there are several vaccines with their readout due. Maybe one or more of these may be better than the Pfizer one. I was one that thought the sp would dip below 25p but never 17p. No one is denying things are not good in an economic sense but I think there is a clearer understanding of the virus now which will only improve.

The 5 or more reduction on the SLEDAI score was the reason but from memory the Mauritius readout skewed the results. Perhaps I may be wrong given the passage of time but the point remains, recruitment is paramount here. Any rush to P3 is the biggest risk to any successful trial.
I'm sure some on here thing that once the FDA give the greenlight then the trial will be underway. The reality is totally different, it's just the beginning of the process.

I would add caution to any LTI wanting a quick turnaround from any SPA to P3 trial. This was the main cause of failure in the last one. Recruitment was cut short by a large group coming from one country that had a poor health care system. Imo, that skewed readout that failed to get Lupuzor across the line.

That’s precisely how I read it. The P3 trial is never in doubt to me as IMM will adjust the trial accordingly in order to proceed.
I think the company tried to sugar coat the RNS a little with the conditional approval before the conclusion of the trial.
Pity today’s news was not released last week as I’m sure the reaction would have been much more in terms of the share price. Perhaps many invested here would have took some of their money off the table on the hope of a retrace as we wait for me news.

In fairness Darth, I think it was played down by the politicians so there is not an abandonment of the social distancing rules. The scientists seem pretty bullish and normally the ones to air caution.
