heardy, I agree in relation to flu but this is another virus that together is extremely dangerous to humans. I have first hand experience of Covid losing 2 very good friends less than a month ago. They were not elderly and to my knowledge or to the knowledge of their families they had no underlining health conditions.
I cannot remember losing friends to flu but don't deny how deadly that can be too.

heardy, flu is likely to be down this year. The social distancing measures in for Covid will have a severe impact on the spread of the flu virus too. No conspiracy, straightforward science.

Oil and gas aside, BP is also a retailer and energy from renewables. Too many investors focused entirely on the PoO but I think that mindset will change.
Still watching from the wings with this company, waiting patiently for the uncertainties to sort themselves out.

Happy, I agree with most of your post but not so sure about Gas demand during this pandemic. Yes most people working from home. Some homes already being heated in winter whether or not somoois working from home (mum or dad with small children)
Surely demand comes from office blocks, conference halls, shops etc.

A refusal of the P3 trial cannot be buried or hidden. It is price sensitive information that has to be released to shareholders. Also the FDA publish their findings and have no reason not to make their findings public and will outline the trial design.
Imo, the worst case scenario for IMM is a trial that requires a larger number of recruits, more than what they expect in their original submissions.

Paddy you keep posting on future dividend yields but you’re assuming the dividend will stay the same. It could of course go up but in this climate there is more chance of it going down.

IMO, the so will more than likely double, but from what point. Not unreasonable to think close to 20p. If I was looking to hold longer through the P3 trial then my concern would be cash burn. We know the cost of the trial is covered but the results will be after the date the company stated that they are fully funded until.
There is the probability that another opportunity to walk away after news of a successful recruitment program and maybe just before any result for the trial is announced.
No right or wrong strategy I suppose as long as your investment makes you a profit.

Been in cash only since March. Made my biggest financial gains post housing market crash and financial crash. My biggest concern if I was an investor in this current climate is the overvalued US market and the real possibility of Trump losing and not conceding on the grounds of a rigged postal voting system. He has already got his judges lined up.
Would be nice for investors here to get the expected FDA approval prior to next Wednesday and for those in profit to top slice. There is a real possibility that IMM may get caught up in any sell off.

You are not wrong but I have never lost 2 good friends to flu in the last 2 weeks. Non had any underlying health conditions and both were under 60.
My good friend who died on Sunday morning joined me on a 10k run 3 weeks ago and fitted a kitchen for his daughter on the Thursday, 3 days before he succumbed to the virus.
I’m no drama queen or want the economy to shut down but this is my experience of the virus and dismissing it as seasonal flu is naive.
I hope your view isn’t changed with the loss of a close friend or family member.

Marko, if you are going to wait until after ex div then imo you should wait until the US elections have concluded and whether or not there is a challenge to the result. BP earnings improved in the last quarter but the deteriorating C19 picture may offset any gas supply increase.

Good luck tomorrow guys. Hope the DOW recovers a little before close. Haven’t got the balls to invest here prior to the US elections. Maybe all the negatives and uncertainties are already priced in. Tomorrow should be fascinating for those investors like me who are sat on their hands.
