In case you didn't watch the Disney Investor Conference it was clear that the Blockbusters will be continuing in the cinema with the thetarical window maintained and the odd PG rated kiddie illustrative film going to streaming imv as a tempter to improve numbers.

Just in case you missed it also, the FDA passed the Pfizer vaccine. Authorisation is now imminent so we can get open the 70% of our cinemas and 75% screens in the USA. Apparently authorisation on the Moderna vaccine is also looking promising.

Disney are far shrewder strategically than WB and know which side their bread is buttered on when it comes to Cinemas and Blockbusters.

Firstly too choreographed, lengthy and complex to understand with too many Disney DTC brands joined with a multiplicity and myriad of different content providers in different countries and regions. I watched the first half hour until it got complicated and that sufficed. Probably more directly relevant to Netflix, Amazon and Sky who will view the expansion strategy as a direct threat to them. The expansion on the sport content side will not sit comfortably with SKY that is for sure. Those will evaluate and respond in their own competitive way, probably with price undercutting.

The Chairman (second communicator) quite clearly said Blockbusters to theatrical side first and that was all that I was after. That shows that they wish to maintain their slice of what are highly lucrative, multi-billion pound global Box Office revenues for Blockbusters.

I also read it that they have a present backlog of 2020 films that were postponed due to Covid19 and which are now overlapping with their 2021 schedule of releases and that they are looking to monetise these by the best form of media. Some of the more minor ones like Raya and the Last Dragon (a kiddie illustrative film) they will debut solely On DTC and use them as the odd tempter to try and attract in more more subscribers.

Conclusion: Existing status quo preserved by Disney give or take the odd Certificate PG to DTC and plenty left to go around for cinemas. Theatre window being respected, and it leaves WB looking just that further tad isolated.

The Disney share price incidentally is sat at pre-pandemic levels. Work that one out given so many films postponed, theme parks being closed and operating on a fraction of previous attendances ...

The best thing to do is just let them compete against each other for their re-entry points.

Please though don't tell me that Cineworld with the ability to reopen 70% more of its cinema real estate at 100% full capacity, in a vaccinated world is presently reflected in the share price. Right now it only reflects about 100 UK cinemas reopening off the Pfozer vaccine rollout in the UK.

If some set their aspirations too low then they miss out, whilst others holding benefit on any upturn. Ultimately wider market reaction rather than bulletin board comments will be what carries favour with the share price.

The market isn't reflecting the fact that we will effectively be given a green light to start planning the reopening of all our US cinemas and on substantially greater seating capacity than 25%, as was previously the case.

Plenty trader talk on here talking of things "being already reflected blah de blaf, which is generally indicative that they wish to rebuy the stock they sold. You can identofy and count them, along with all the new posters with hardly any posts.

Any Brexit deal is neither price in which imvho will spark the markets into real life again.

You can't buy stock on Saturday or Sunday either so you purchase prior to either decision and the weekend or gamble on being out.

Just in case this is a scrolling news website and things update. Deaths at only 6,000 is really low number.

It would appear that one of the main countries in our Middle East market has just cleared the Pfizer vaccine for use.
