RE: CINE has proved itself this week26 Aug 2021 23:09
Mountainous, I'll be surprised if CvC gets anywhere near a court room this year and in any case Mooky thinks no liability and I tend to agree with him and that is on Cineplex racking up debt and breaching terms of the agreement and that "doctrine of frustration" that prevails in Canadian common law. The latter should relieve both sets of parties of their obligations. If you embark on a contractual undertaking and the circumstances changed so dramatically that the contract could not be fulfilled, then it fits the bill. You are buying a movie chain to be 100% open and to sell movies. You can't if they ended up shut or with limited capacity for the bulk of 12-18 months.
I'm personally not in the slightest bothered about this one and think the most likely outcome is that the court will alleviate both parties of their responsibilities and no cost or damages to either. Result.
As for Covid, it's one we need to learn to live with, and it would appear that about 90% of hospitalisations are down to those who were entitled to the jab and either declined or refusenik'd it. The papers are full of many such cases and several tragically having resulted in the individuals passing away and just prior to being placed in an induced coma, stating they wish they had had the jab.
As for schools, there was plenty of evidence off staged reopenings showing that they had very little impact back then and I know I commented on it for those supposed naughty "vectors of transmission" had little impact. Staged returns to schools back then had little if any impact and now virtually all of those pupils come into contact on a daily basis with people that have been jabbed or double jabbed. Family, friends, teachers etc.
These are debates that have going round in circles on here for weeks and many months previously and have not stopped reopenings and improving Box Office. Research and formulate your own view and decide for yourself.
Sometimes there is a lot to be said for the quieter bulletin boards.
