Shame we can't decide on whether we cite opening UK Box Office in $ or £ and for the 4 day opening as per the US or for 3 days. Mid-term it matters not really as it's registered in the tills

I've just watched Venom 1 on DVD ahead of the 2nd one and I can see why it is proving so popular. Ingenious and funny Marvel film.

If "Maverick does re-engage" the the only viable slot I can see given the already congested schedule of good releases till year end is November 26th. Even then it coincides with Lady Gaga and House of Gucci.

In that way Dune, The Eternals, The Ghostbusters Sequel, Spielbergs West Side Story, The Kings Man,and Matrix 4 all get a few weeks unchallenged. Nearly missed out Spiderman No Way Home.

This coming weekend its Bond in the US and we are set for another very strong follow through week of demand on Bond.

Happy with all I have and the major boost that No Time to Die has given to reinvigorating cinema attendance. MGM were brave and they have pulled it off. The question is, In our congested schedule between now and year end, could we squeeze in the Top Gun sequel if they come back and ask nicely?

In reality it is irrelevant as we have no cinemas in China and deal with local suppliers in our key markets. the US, The UKaand Ireland and predominantly Eastern Europe.

Will it impact on Bond and Venom ticket sales for us? No.

Both weekend numbers far better than expected and there is even more coming this weekend when No Time To Die opens in the US.

The next few days headlines now, industry commentary and word of mouth and social media should ensure a very strong further week or two of bookings in the UK. It is already shaping up that way for the coming week.

Cinema footfall is rebounding back very quickly globally now and personally I think a lot of people are taking the prompt from both the wider opening up of both the UK and US airspace. The last real part of the economy to be widely reopened from lockdown.

Next weekend though its Bond UK (2nd weekend) + BOND USA opening weekend + Venom US (weekend 2)

Next weekend after that its Venom (UK opening) Bond UK (3rd weekend) Bond US (2nd weekend) Venom US (3rd weekend) It is also just happens to be the opening of Halloween Kills in both UK + US

I can keep going if you like with a 45 day theatrical window on most, but I think you get my gist. Cumulative audiences and very good "new product" to refresh and re-invigorate.

Concession sales on top. Pre-booking fees on top, advertising revenues on top .... Then add in the other films.

We patiently wait for the "actual" numbers and on the 4 day opening for No Time To Die from 00:01 on Thursday to 23:59 on Sunday. Looks though like it is smashing opening records globally. That Royal Albert Hall (royal) film premiere broadcasting live in 57 countries looks like it was part of the winning formula imho.
