BB I was just about to log off for the what would be the Box Office weekend.

Its just one I track as a barometer cinema and last time it called Peter Rabbit 2 (RNS) absolutely spot on and it has served me well on F9 and several others. Today is sold out, the full weekend is about 20 seats away from complete sell out and next week is also clocking up many Sellouts and restricted availability. I'm seeing unprecedented.

Indeed Polaris did increase and by more than any recent changes in short positions, so the net balance is actually positive.

Its not travel related either as TUI is only down 1.6%, EZJ 2.6%

Imho It's the market makers plundering for risk free stock.

Won't change the plans of all going to the cinema and the weather as it is will only encourage more. In fact it might make them that bit more determined to spend more money on popcorn etc.

Barometer cinema has now completely sold out today on the only remaining 6 tickets without having to accomodate a single walk in. (And no I didn't buy any of them in the end. Didn't need to). Only 3 seats left for tomorrow for another complete full house on every screening.

Saturday and Sunday have only minimal restricted seatings, again mainly single seats over nearly 20 showings. and with 95% already Sold Out.

Sad indictment on the regulation of UK markets that such blatant manipulation of a share price can occur but we get used to it here. Sooner we get on with a US listing the better.

Just further, you all saw yesterdays drum roll of 4 and 5 star critics and commentator reviews on No Time To Die.

Well here is what's on Rotten Tomatoes and it carries a fair bit of clout in the US. It will be nice to see what rating they give it ahead of US opening on the 8th October.

Just remember what you were told by some in the industry itself and you all saw the premiere and the ensuing headlines.

Won't be the first or the last shake ahead of what should be our strongest weekend yet by far. It's not only Bond in the UK and our RoW territories but it's also Venom 2 Let there be Carnage in the US and it's into Q4.

Proper opening today and I'm tempted just to take out the half dozen or so single seats remaining on my barometer cinema just to make it a complete full house for the opening days.

One Evening the Director of No Time To Die is at the Royal Albert Hall for a spectacular (Royal) Premiere of Bond. Next Day he's in Monaco with Crown Prince Albert and Sharon Stone and home of the Iconic casino. There are many film franchises in the world but not many can court this type of attention.

The sums and number of shares that Whitebox have sold short that you mention is probably less than what BC2020 picks up here or trades in a day elsewhere. Leave them to fritter their money away if they wish now it's Bond and Q4.

There are only about a dozen tickets left (nearly all single seats) on the Barometer cinema I track for a complete sell out of No Time to Die on circa a dozen showings for tomorrow Thursday and for Friday. They added more screenings and they also filled up.

Some showings as early as 10a.m.

To all the insomniacs and eager beavers out there who are visiting the cinema tonight to see the very first screening of "No Time Die" at 00:01 I wish you well.

These won't be full houses but I am watching one with about 75 pre-booked and without "walk-ins". They're mad but I can see the kudos in being one of the first to see it.

It's a watershed moment. It's finally here and Bond has finally got there to the Big Screen.

Back your local cinema if you can by booking or "walk-in" on the earlier showings. This weekend or whenever you can. Buy the concession items also if you can.

If you are on a budget don't forget you can use your Tesco Clubcard vouchers to convert into CINE tokens to use on the website. You can I believe also use them for food and beverage. If not take your own.

Success breeds success and High Box Office numbers will no doubt have a say on further industry content. Might even bring Top Gun, Maverick back into this years scheduling.

I'll be interested to see what trailers they have to garnish new attendees and those re-engaging to come back again for future films.

As stated earlier here is a quick resume of ticket price increases amongst some of the main cinemas. if you use a smaller regional chain or Independent cinema then you will know your own ticket price increases and can probably add.

AMC – prices up 15% since 2019
Odeon – prices up 6%

"Compared to the second quarter of 2019, the domestic average ticket price was up more than 15%, and food and beverage revenue per patron was up nearly 42% to a very impressive $7.91. And this compares to $5.58 during the same quarter of 2019. Similarly, the international average ticket price was up 6%, and food and beverage revenue per patron was up nearly 33% compared to the second quarter of 2019." Cineworld –. Circa 8% increase on Premium screen price increases (IMAX, ScreenX, 4DX). Comparison of own prices paid.
Hard to quantify 2D ticket price rises due to Variable pricing on some peak showings but it does look like a modest rise of circa £0.25 upwards comparing student prices paid and on a non-peak showing.

Everyman – 5% rise

“• Average ticket price has increased by 5% due to ticket type mix and modest inflation-related increases” From their H1 results just issued last week (23/9)

If I get a chance later I'll summarise who lifted their ticket prices and by how much.

CINE have definitely raised their prices on the premium seats but haven't publicised it. I'll also look at the CINE 2D seats and see if I can compare with any from when cinemas first reopened.

The ticket price you will appreciate is the other side of the revenue equation and what will register at the Box Office.

Bond UK (and elsewhere) will help with the launch pad for the US next week. The US should then help when Bond opens in China on the 28th October.

Cruis concentrate on the Uk Box Office and remember AMC Odeon, Everyman, Vue and CINE (premium seats) have all put up their prices.
