The below extract is from the WHI note. I have highlighted the bit i liked re improving methodologies to ensure wells deliver full potential. Why send a note out if they weren't confident of delivering commercial output from the Airshagyl reservoir. No guarantees but are we finally going to get the best RNS since 2007 ? Meanwhile crude went above $113 and looks like $100 oil here for a while yet. Airshagyl: Based on our volumetric assessment, we estimate that the company’s deepAirshagyl field would recover 305 million barrels of oil under a success-case. The field is bothdeep and significantly overpressured, which creates drilling challenges pursuant to which thefield has yet to establish long-term stable oil flow – effectively the field has been producedat highly significant short-term rates from one deep well (2,000 barrels of oil per day). Like atthe super-giant Tengiz field (9 billion barrels of recoverable oil) that is circa 40km away, theappraisal/testing period has been challenging. THE COMPANY IS HOPEFUL THAT IT WILL IMPROVE ITSWELL DRILLING/COMPLETION METHODOLOGIES TO ALLOW THE RESERVOIR TO PRODUCE AT ITS FULL POTENTIAL AT STABLE RATES. The company announced on 25 January 2022 that the recently drilled DeepWell A8 produced at a stable rate of 120 barrels of oil per day (from only one of threeproductive intervals) for several days – encouraging.

I knew that was coming but not with a huge nuclear arsenal.

Back to Casper. We as shareholders have not benefitted from the increased crude prices and the Tenge devaluation but Caspian obviously is. We are in the 'high risk' bucket as we are close to the Ukraine crisis and we are in a non Nato country and a FSU state. I believe Kaz will never get drawn in from a military perspective as they know it will be economic suicide. They are not needed from a military perspective and Russia have a good relationship with Tokayev and they're not planning to become a NATO ally and therefore not a threat. As stated many times, if it escalated to the point that nuclear was utilised, our stock investments would be the last of our worries.

Quite simply, Kaz have enough socio-economic issues to deal with and inflation being one as a result of Tenge devaluation and Crude prices. Alienating the west would certainly be suicide as demonstrated by the sanctions already imposed on Russia. To lose the huge investment from the likes of Chevron, Exxon, Shell etc would be hugely damaging at a time where there is huge poverty in the country. Not sure what the price of domestic crude has gone up to but the govt will be funding the caps and probably coming to the OE community to pay their share, Caspian wil be benefitting from this.

The fundamentals are improving rapidly, this is now hugely undervalued without any further positive news and we're going to find out whether the likely positive news is going to be received well by the investor community ore shunned as too high risk as a casualty of geopolitical tensions that aren't affecting the company. If that was the case, Caspian would undertake a PR campaign, providing they have a great foundation following some more good news and a real story to tell.

A raving buy for those with an appetite for risk and hopefully the next news reinforces that 'strong buy' recommendation.

Production being maintained @ 2500bopd and benefitting from the material changes to Crude and the Tenge, both have improved our financial position considerably. We plan to spud 142 and 152 this month and our first well at SY. We have 15 more wells to drill on MJF and we now plan to accelerate the program as we have purchased 2 more rigs for a consideration of $1m. Additionally our first horizontal well is targeted at the new structure identified but we will also be attempting this methodology on the existing structures drilled to date.

We are also pleased to announce the charter of the CE for the 2022 season for a sum of $25m which has given us the funding to invest in the oil transport infrastructure without needing to dilute the company through debt/equity options.

We have also been advised that our partner on the 3AB territory have now received the approval licence and drilling to start later this month.

We are pleased to announce that all zones are tested and have been flowing for 4 weeks at a rate of 2500bopd on a 11cm choke, oil quality 39 API. We have put the well on a 30 day flow test and we are very hopeful that A8 is our first deep success in the Carboniferous and Devonian structures.

We are continuing to to do the remedial work on A5 &A6 and to apply the same techniques that have proved successful on A8 and we may also decide to drill A6 to the Devonian. We are at 2000m on A7 and hope to be at TD by April latest and also planning to spud 802 this month followed by A9 on Airshagyl.

Last but not least, we are also in the final stages of acquiring to new blocks and hopeful of agreement before H1.

The link above is a few days old but highlights the fact that Kaz aren't getting involved, they have too much to lose economically. The big oil multi-nationals have pulled out of Russia and Nordstream ! these are big moves and they'll do the same in Kaz if they back the wrong horse. Putin is owed a few favours by Tokayev after the Kaz unrest but i don't believe Kaz will get dragged in and Putin by the looks of it has enough deployed already. I'm sure Tokayev has enough social-economic problems to deal with and further economic pain will create unrest. He will want all supply routes open so that they can get paid in $ for all their exports to counter the internal inflationary challenges created by Tenge devaluation, interest rate hikes etc.

Meanwhile, another day of $100+ oil and an the additional bonus of being paid in $ and all internal costs in Tenge.

Re Nazis it is a tricky one and much that i love my history, i know little of this situation. All i do know, in 2022, we have a Dictatorship that feels it's ok to invade a sovereign state, that is unacceptable. Much that NATO influence is expanding, no country was ever going to attack Russia so to invade under ' false flag' pretences was totally unacceptable in the 21st century. To utter the nuclear word, yet again, totally unacceptable. Every country bordering Russia is weak in comparison. The nuclear disarmament (non proliferation agreement', ensured that Russia was not threatened and nobody has the intention to challenge ?

Putin was supplying the world with energy, the 3rd largest oil producer in the world. Why did he invade now ? needed to strengthen his position in Russia after 2 difficult Covid years ? Going back the the 1991 position or pre WW1 !! That can't happen in the 21st century in Europe. This has backfired on Putin and god knows where it goes from here. and whether the West can now liberate themselves from Russian energy and develop their own strategies, nuclear, green etc. or obviously to import from other sources. I really believe that this will be a huge turning point in trade relations with Russia and the only way it changes is by changing the regime in the Kremlin.

He can't fight borders on all fronts and uttering the 'nuclear' word means that he's lost the debate and is now in shouting mode. He didn't expect the West to react as it has, actually i can't believe it either with Germany now really pushing the agenda. Putin saw the weakness with Sleepy Joe at the helm, Boris distracted with Partygate, Germany hugely reliant on Russian energy, Macron being Macron ! and he played his cards. Ukraine resistance also ****ed things up and the longer it goes on, the more resistance Russia will see from the world. He didn't bank on SWIFT removal and that will hurt and Russians (younger generation) will hopefully see the non Russian propaganda version of the real position.

Ukraine won't cede and have nothing to gain by doing so and has it gone to far to negotiate ? Putin will want Donbass as a minimum and more access to the Black Sea as per his current control from this invasion. I can't see that happening and i can't see Ukraine wanting neutrality a la Finland model. Putin has already threatened Sweden and Finland, the guy needs to be removed and hopefully that happens.

Tokayev has to tow the neutral line as they're an independent state and as stated, not to do so will damage their economy and the Tenge @ 497 to the $ as i type. Casper is a little oil minnow and providing there is no disruption to oil sales, they are currently making a killing. Crude over $100 and and Tenge devalued 15%, Casper are coining it in.

Well, looks like most of the free world is condemning Putin and the ‘nuclear’ threat demonstrates that he may be feeling the pressure. The financial sanctions are really going to hurt and any more ‘genocide’ in Ukraine is going to strengthen the resolve against him. a SWIFT will hurt and BP pulling out of Rosneft projects is a huge move. Kaz will be worrying that if they attach they’re colours to the wrong mast, they will suffer economically and they can’t afford to lose investment from the large western multi-nationals.

Tokayev will hopefully steer the neutral line and as not to will damage his and his clan’s opportunity to make a few quid and continue the independent journey.

Can’t see anything coming from the planned talks tomorrow as Ukraine won’t want to cede anything especially when Europe are agreeing that they should be allowed to join the EU. Putin is being backed into a corner as worldwide public opinion is going against him

Back to Casper, they just need to continue with task at hand and start releasing the positive news to continue the re-rate of the stock. Nothing they can do re the geopolitical scene.

If correct, that would be a slap in the chops for Putin. Kaz reliant on far more investment from the West and China to compromise their economic status.

Unfortunately, Ukraine on it's border and within easy reach unlike Afghanistan or any country where remote engagement is largely impossible, not the same in poor Ukraine unfortunately. So much propaganda in play and latest news alert on my phone is that Putin appealing to the Ukraine army to turn against the government. Let's hope that Putin has miscalculated and he doesn't get the outcome he wants leading to political unrest on his doorstep.

News next week for our Casper ? or are they waiting post conversion meeting ? They were happy to share the WHI coverage and that's clearly with a view to get Casper out there and to attract more investment.

Re our Casper and Kazakhstan ? Kaz has biz relations with many states and China taking a bigger share, Russia probably the same but Kaz has to play their game of chess and maybe eventually that could mean no Western investment if Putin forces neighbouring states like Belarus to support. Kaz is not like Ukraine or Belarus as it's so diverse but hey after the troubles, Russia are owed a favour or 3 and will do what they want to do if forced with a defiant West. That's a future risk we have to consider here and we're going to see what good news does for an undervalued stock close to conflict. Is there enough appetite from the 'thundering herd' in a geopolitically sensitive territory but i suppose i could argue that for most of Europe.

Casper just need to carry on filling the coffers and developing their business and let the fundamentals do the talking.

This may be a very swift conflict with Zelensky agreeing a 'neutrality' position for the future eg the same as the Finland position. Doesn't solve the the problem though as there is too much dependence on Russia from an economic perspective. I don't see a long term guerrilla warfare situation as that damages everyone and concessions will be made and the loser being the Ukrainians.

Kaz and other FSU states not part of NATO will continue to do business with the world but if tensions between NATO and Russia continue then they will push non NATO countries nearer to Russia, China etc.

Yep Wolfi, i'm aware of that conversation and many others but it doesn't solve the problem. Trump is Mr Black and White and more u turns than my complicated plumbing system. He's bang on re Germany but you can point fingers everywhere, the world is corrupt whether that be Corporate, Governmental or down to an individual elite level. We are guilty of allowing the Russians to launder billions through our system but that doesn't only apply to Russia. It's going to be very difficult to isolate Russia when Germany is so reliant on their energy. One thing i do know, we have to support countries that want democracy and their own decision making and unfortunately if Trump was in, Russia could effectively do what they want. Very little we can say. Ukraine isn't a NATO country and sadly the fact that they are a democracy and want to be free to make their own decisions, they're not able to with Russia on the border. Putin has made his intentions known and god know how this plays out from here. US not unified with their foreign policy at home, largely as a result of the Trump legacy and America first. The majority don't want to get involved in external conflicts but then the role of 'Peacekeeper' is over and a case of the 'Super Powers ' ploughing their own furrows, that's disastrous. If Trump was in power, you could argue that it wouldn't have happened as he would not got involved in the conflict and not supported Ukraine request to join NATO. That is a disastrous strategy for the free world or not so free. The biggest will bully the rest of the world, Europe would be marginalised and each country looking after their own interests. Trump would be no different to all the other Dictators in the world, corruption at the top and no free will. Not one to debate on a BB, we'd be here forever but as it stands, the citizens of Ukraine are the casualties of the much bigger geopolitical power struggle.

Nothing to be said about Caspian either it seems. Getting financially stronger, a positive bit of PR and now have the funds to push on aggressively with their operational campaign to deliver real shareholder value.
