Thanks sterraman, appreciate that. Will look into the Vit D supplement too as I don't currently take one. I do take FF + Omega 3 though as I'm invested in Provexis (PXS) and the science is compelling even if the share price isn't. There's red all over my board this morning, Covid concerns returning. That's why it's so difficult to explain why the grant confirmation caused that massive drop yesterday. Still, it is what it is, things seem a little calmer on the good ship Sareum this morning at least.
Good luck with your entertainments sector shares, not an area I know much about so I tend to stay clear of it.

Thanks Thoth. I was completely thrown by the grant award RNS yesterday, assumed it would underpin the recent share price rise but hey ho, we've been here before. Back to watching and waiting again. At least everything seems a bit calmer this morning, although with this share you never know what's going to happen next!

Sorry sterraman, that was bang out of order. Been thinking about it all evening. It doesn't matter if we have different opinions on the potential for a vaccine, there's no excuse for a post like that. I was annoyed with myself for a couple of stupid decisions during the day that have ended up costing me big time (on paper at least) so was letting off steam. I was getting on fine whilst LSE was down earlier in the day! Hope you find this post in amongst the multitude, and that you will accept my sincere apology. I'll try to sharpen my act up, or else just keep away from this site for a while. BOL. K

Do you honestly think the people at A-Z (a company with a market cap of £105bn) are stupid enough to put their neck's on the block developing a vaccine that won't work? IF, and it's a BIG if, it continues to show good efficacy to the end of the development process, I'll be first in the queue to get jabbed. Meanwhile, you'll have probably read some other boll0ckz on a dodgy website & convinced yourself that the Chinese & Russians will be able to track your movements for the rest of your life so won't get protected. The grant award triggered a drop in the share price which must have reduced the value of Thoth's shares by, well, about the same amount as the grant award. Madness...

maidit308 absolute nonsense, AZ & the University of Oxford continue to develop a vaccine against this terrible illness and we should all hope that they succeed. However, it will take years for the vaccine to be produced and distributed worldwide, and even then there will be a huge % of the population (e.g. half of Americans) who won't take it. So there's plenty of space for someone (hopefully SAR...) to develop an effective treatment for the worst effects of the virus long before, during and after the successful development and distribution of an effective vaccine.

Completely agree with Wolfbag's post, that was my initial thought too. Presumably with the £64k SAR are putting in they feel that's all they need to conduct the initial study. Guess we'll find out more with the next release of news once they've worked out how this will be conducted. Whichever way you look at it, this is positive news and an important box ticked. Onward & upward from here.

bigsmoke yes my first "investment" in VOG was in 2010, then added in 2011,2012 & 2015. All I've had from the company in that time has been bs, certainly one of my worst decisions. Good to be reminded that others have been even more unfortunate, falling for what appeared at the time to be a very convincing story. Hope you're not one of those who have fared worse than me, and if you have, then like me you've been able to make good with other shares.

OK I'll ask again as no-one replied the first time. Why would shareholders vote to accept the Yanks buying in at 110 when the shares are worth c. 135 on the open market? They'll have to up their offer to get approval now, surely? Or perhaps someone else will make a counter-bid? As it stands, LOAC are getting in here at a bargain basement price, subject to DDDD shareholder approval...

So what price does this have to reach before shareholders tell LOAC what they can do with their 110?

Yes, this is my only remaining investment in Africa. Not sure how they will ever attract the funding they need to improve lives of people living there (even before COVID) when corruption is endemic across the continent. Very sad situation.

3card yes I really ought to change it. The "lads" used to sing it to the Hallelujah Corus tune from Handel's Messiah. It seemed funny at the time. I'd had 3 or 4 goes at creating a handle no-one else was already using on LSE. Maybe it was the handle (Handel??) that made me think of it. Anyway, there you go. Obviously the comment was tongue in cheek, but VOG has managed to turn my £8,281.55 investment into £171.63 so you could say I'm slightly bitter! Joking aside, I do wonder what the NAV of the company is? Surely the assets alone have to be worth more than £6m? Or is everything in hock?

£6m market cap now. Wouldn't they be better off shutting down, digging up the existing pipeline, selling it off & distributing the resulting funds?

Thanks noix, I'll look at that over the weekend. Like others on here, I'm struggling to see why the market has responded in the way that it has. Even if you ignore the potential for IBS (I'm an IBS sufferer myself but not holding my breath for a treatment based on these results) there's still lots to come with their other irons in the fire. noix, if these results are as good as you & the company believe them to be, can YOU explain why the SP has fallen from 174 to 97? The market is very rarely wrong.
