RE: Where's the long term value?29 Jul 2020 17:29
zac0_4 it helps explain the logic, but only as it has applied to the last 3 years. If you've only been invested for 3 years, fine, just don't expect to repeat the trick. If you've been invested for longer, why are you only concentrating on the past 3 years? And how does this logic help you decide what to do next? Will FE outperform TW over the next 3 years? You don't know, & neither do I. Your approach seems to be, if FE has done well over the past 3 years, it'll do just as well, or better, over the next 3 years, but there's no guarantee of that (see the Woodford (spit spit) debacle). So my strategy involves diversifying and doing plenty of research in the sure and certain knowledge that events will dictate the future of shares/funds/bonds etc. more than any strategy you & I might have. Seriously though, I wish you all the best, there are so many "experts" around that are happy to tell you how they made their millions and very few who are brave enough to tell it how it is for the rest of us. Good luck. K
