Spot on Num4, you can only find new variants if you're looking for them. The issue, though, is more to do with the UK being the world leader in this field. Given the impact of the variant news release I don't think other countries are going to be rushing out to buy the technology any time soon. The message seems to be, "be careful what you look for".

Just to validate the SAR success story this year, I'm reading today's edition of Shares Magazine. In their tables of Best Performing Shares of 2020, SAR appears at Number 8 in the category for companies with a mcap between £50 - £200m with a ytd gain of 379%. Same again next year would be nice, then on into the £200m - £1bn category for 2022! K.

carter19 thanks for that, I can see where you are coming from and I know many people share your concerns. Does it give you any more reassurance that organisations around the world are now approving these vaccines as being safe having examined all the evidence? I've said it before on here, I believe the speed improvement is down to them running trial stages concurrently, and that paperwork hasn't been allowed to sit on people's desks for weeks on end. One of the consequences of this pandemic will be a new, streamlined processes for developing safe vaccines that will mean we don't have this time lag in future, that's got to be a good thing in the long run. Anyway, I hope you'll reflect on your decision, keep reading the science and, as we have been doing with the SAR journey, keep following it. BOL. K.

Can you explain your logic carter19? A virus that can 100% kill you versus some possible, as yet unidentified side effects that probably won't do you any long-term harm? Or are you so young & fit that you can't comprehend how a virus could take you down? Just to be clear, I'll have it as soon as they offer me it.

Don't worry about it, if it works it will blow the roof off whichever market it's in. Hard to overestimate the unmet need in treatment for Parkinson's and the potential benefits for sufferers.

I should have said, the company is currently reviewing the UP TO 15% gearing level available, I didn't mean to infer that they are currently geared at 15%.

Lots more news to digest this morning:
Another TR1 (disposal), perhaps the size of the enlarged company no longer fits with investment criteria for some Trusts/Funds? Slightly concerning.
Growing in-house management of assets. Some may disagree but having spent much of my career managing in-house services I strongly believe this is more cost-effective than outsourcing, in most circumstances.
Half-year report. Much as expected, although the premium to NAV has increased significantly. Also, going back to the earlier discussion re the company's ability to continue paying the c. 7% dividend whilst the new resources come onstream, I note that only about 1/3 of the current capacity is actually producing. In addition, the company is currently reviewing the 15% gearing level which apparently may not be suitable for an enlarged organisation. Again, slightly concerning.
All in all, I'll be keeping a very close eye on how this develops. Hopefully the new capacity will come onstream pretty quickly so the company doesn't have to borrow more in order to keep up dividend payments.

gixer/alf, you've both been on here as long as I can remember. I occasionally engage one or both of you in discussion on here (look back at my posting history). I'm not negative about PXS - I hold 1m shares here, why would I be? - but at times over the years things have happened that don't sit right with me, so I flag them up. If you re-read my post (did either of you read ALL of it before replying?) you'll see I'm not being negative at all. So no need for the sledging.

Sorry but that's irrelevant. We've had the Chinese CBEC announcement since then, so you're not comparing apples with apples. Don't get me wrong, I think management has done extremely well to get this placing away at minimal discount and agree that it has significantly derisked the share. But I would have preferred them to be more transparent about where and how they'd raised the money, and as a long-term holder, would like to have had the opportunity to but discounted shares. I don't think that's asking too much is it?

See the daily chart, when the mid-price was 1.825 there's a sudden drop to 1.67 then immediate rise back to 1.825. That will have been enough to flush out any stops set at 1.70. Beware!

Couple of TR1's just gone through, explains those enormous late-reported trades on Tuesday evening.
