It doesn't end next week, but the next phase (the tapered extension) begins and runs until the end of September. So we'll continue to see sales at an inflated level, but that level is likely to be lower than during the initial stamp duty holiday phase IMHO. We will also see less houses coming to market which will squeeze the supply side. If new-build rates begin to feel the effects of materials supply and labour shortages, that will increase pressure on prices and potentially increase the profit % for builders. All IMHO of course.

Maybe just a coincidence that several have come out of the woodwork plying their filthy trade, just as American kids are waking up, having their waffles for breakfast & getting off to school.

Probably thriller, although the press is saying the smaller builders are being impacted more because the larger builders (such as TW.) hold longer-term, larger contracts with suppliers. There's a shortage of skilled labour too, so it will be interesting to hear how the trade is coping once reporting season starts.

HeiQ won't be paying a dividend any time soon so probably not on your radar adv11. It's more of a growth share at this stage so sits in my SIPP. Yes there seem to have been a few strange closing prices from Friday, more or less sorted out now though. I keep hoping the price will dip here so I can buy some more, no sign of that happening yet though.

Thanks adv11, useful to get an alternative view on this. I hadn't picked up on the trend for trading REITs. Chasing dividends and then selling is not for me though I'm afraid. As you point out, if the market turns against you it can turn out an expensive exercise. I got into HeiQ after it dropped dramatically following the maiden dividend, it still hasn't fully recovered but I'm sure will be a solid investment ultimately.

Ash78, welcome! There are a few TW'ers still posting that have been here for many years, and some excellent newcomers and watchers taking an active interest. Good luck with your new investment, hoping for a return of the good times here.

Re your interest in non-conventional energy suppliers etc., has GSF come across your radar? I'll declare an interest straight away as I'm invested there myself. Have a look through some of the RNS's, it's an interesting play. Good revenue stream, underpinned by the Irish govt.

...been on a downward trend since 15th April Rawson. Have a look at some of stt1's posts, he's got plenty of good arguments for a collapse in house prices and associated SP drops for HB's. I think the SP now reflects many of those concerns and could therefore recover strongly if the fears have been overplayed. I remain pretty positive about the short to medium term here, it will be interesting to see if this is borne out by company updates as they appear. Any sign of weakness in the forward order book could have serious implications, but a strong order book will propel us forward in anticipation of the restored special dividend for 2022.

I tend to agree HINDY, plenty of shares out there to trade if that's what you're looking for. A REIT paying c.5% divi doesn't fit with that strategy. Great for anyone looking for reliable, long-term income & a little capital growth though (I hope...).

Yep, waited 10 years for the excitement to kick off at SAR but it's been worth every minute. Been here 12 years and have a feeling it will be just as exciting, if not more, when it does take off. Just need BYHEALTH to come good with any of their research and it will put a rocket under the share price here.

Interesting that the second RNS came exactly two weeks after the first. Perhaps we should keep an eye on Tuesday 29th June, just in case...
