I struggle to find another conclusion.

Hopefully you're right.
Part of me thinks the management will spend time considering each bid ( the bids are likely to have caveats attached and these will require talented legal minds). Then the next stage will be offering a deal to a chosen one followed, if accepted in principle, by further time related negotiation.
It may take three months depending upon these and other, unknown to me, factors.

Clearly the market likes the result. Obviously.
