Not sure about that TF1. I'm more inclined to think we reached a point yesterday where people saw a good buying point on the basis that it wasn't likely to go any/much lower. Whatever the reason we are definitely another week closer to news from somewhere-could be SFR, Cobre or even Thor. Or maybe 1 of the more recent purchases. Let's hope it's spectacular whatever it is!
Happier now, TF1? We've actually gone up-a bit.
Morning TF1. Just mind you don't get clogging the board up with off topic stuff. (smiley face thing) Nobody could get a word in yesterday!
There's no call for that TF1, although I have to admit we were absolutely bl**dy awful on Monday. If they can't motivate themselves when they've only played 7 games what are they going to be like when they've played 17 or 27 and have been given a mauling in most of them?
As for MTR, they seem to be on a losing streak as well although I think they will probably turn things around sooner than Albion. I certainly hope so cos if Albion win that race we'll all be bankrupt (that's a joke just in case there's anyone not sure)!
Perhaps Covid takes away folks' sense of humour as well as taste/smell, DP. Never mind you can't win 'em all.
Chaps, I hear what you say about the potential, the quality of the assets and argument that the market is not valuing MTR correctly but the fact remains that apart from the rise to 6/60p ish in early 2016 and a couple of flirtations with 3/30p ish since , MTR's share price has trundled along at or around the current level-2/20p ish, so unless you had the good sense to take advantage of those brief highs MTR probably hasn't done a lot for your wealth (or health!).
Since the "transformational" SFR/MOD deal we've seen a lot of investment activity by MTR. We've seen excellent publicity come our way courtesy of I.C. We've negotiated royalty deals which must yield good returns at some point in the fairly near future not to mention the SFR dividends which are not to be sneezed at but the SP is still becalmed (I almost said moribund but that might be a bit of an exaggeration) and whenever we do manage to add a few pence to the SP on the back of good news we can't hang onto the gain-we inevitably slide back as we're doing now. I can only assume that as soon as investors see any sort of profit at all, however modest, they quit because they see no prospect of MTR breaking the cycle any time soon.
As I see it there are only 2 things which are going to get the SP moving-the royalties from SFR being given a value and Cobre making a significant discovery to which a value can also be attributed and whether these events will break the cycle I have no idea. I think as far as the wider investment community is concerned MTR has acquired a reputation which is holding it back and dissuading new investors from coming aboard resulting in trading volumes here being so low. If we can't attract new blood the SP will inevitably drift lower because there will always be sellers (for a variety of reasons totally unconnected with the company).
Notwithstanding all of the above, I'll continue to hold for a while,(not least because the SP has now slipped below my break even point) but MTR has to deliver sooner rather than later for me now otherwise I'll be selling the majority of my shares as soon as I can get a half decent return.
And what does "normal" mean? I hope it doesn't mean what I could find in my back garden.
Ok, OK...well done to Chelski. What's more surprising tho' than scoring 4, is the fact that they didn't let any in at the other end.
As for MTR, I'm not sure now is the right time to be talking about their assets -Cobre is down as are PAM and SAU just to mention a few as I can't remember the rest except SFR of course which seems to be as unloved as MTR at the moment. No doubt they'll all come good eventually, but I'd prefer it if they got a move on.
Well, the good news, Fiercey, is we're down only 1%-so far anyway-and the indices , whichever one you choose-are down 2 or 3%. AND we've got news to look forward to between now and Christmas, although you might have to celebrate on your own when it arrives!!
A much better display in the second half but why do blokes earning more in a week than most earn in a year need a rollicking at half time to get them to perform? Fulham next up. We've barely started the season and it's a 6 pointer!
I suspect lots of investors have their concerns about MB but he's still there and there's nothing the PIs can do about it. But it will be the drill bits that have the final word as is the case here as well. All we can do is wait to see whether we make money or lose it.
You're right I think about MB. He doesn't inspire confidence and is definitely the "fly in the ointment" as far as I'm concerned. There's a long way to go for Thor and I doubt we'll be much further along the road by the end of the week. However, you have to stay positive and patient and we've had plenty of practice here at developing those particular attributes, haven't we.
Yes, TF1, have been "in" since summer last year but until recently it wasn't something to publicise as I was well down. Averaged down earlier this year and now just need another 10% to break even! I don't hold an enormous number but enough to make a nice contribution if it makes "3 or 4p by the end of the week" (or any other time) to coin a phrase.
Hello TF1. Yes, SFR has recovered quite a bit of lost ground lately-let's hope it continues. I've noticed you're quite keen on Thor. I hold a few but don't want to get in any deeper. I'd practically written it off, so this gold find has come as a very nice surprise. I have to admit sharing the concerns (about Mick) that your favourite poster on the Thor board bangs on about, but hopefully not even Mick can make a pigs ear of what they seem to have found. Perhaps Thor will grow to even make a difference to MTR's sp.
Well done on your clean sheet. Albion got the same on Monday although the opposition were not quite of the same standard!
According to a Metal Tiger RNS dated 15th Sept, they paid 0.6p for the shares which is roughly 1.1 cents, which is neither 5 cents nor 0.5 cents
Only 28. Well I suppose that explains your being a Chelsea supporter-"the ignorance of youth" probably being responsible! Albion gave you and Frank a fright tho' didn't we? 93rd bl**dy minute!! Is Frank the new Fergie-as much added on time as he needs to score an equalizer/winner!
Hello TF1, or should that be "fiercey", as you appear to be known on the Thor board.(smiley face thingummy). We've actually got more bought than sold thus far today but we're still down. I'm resigned to us drifting lower until SFR release their news (or we get mega news from elsewhere-not holding my breath for that one) but I hate to think where we'll be at the end of the year if we have to wait that long. We seem to be in a downward spiral and nothing is being done to change that.
But it appears the SP is being dragged lower for the benefit of those who want the stock at the expense of existing shareholders.
OK thanks. When I posted I was thinking of our normal UK FY but twigged after I'd posted that wasn't the case.
