George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
Good morning all. So, Illaquens, does MTR have to issue new shares to cover these CDis? I just don't understand how investors on the ASX are going to be able to buy shares when all the shares here are either in the hands of investors already or held by MMs here. I need an idiots guide!
Good morning chaps. I've no idea what Nomads allow and what they don't but I gather that the existence of the nomad function here in the UK creates problems and one of the benefits of the ASX listing is that there is apparently no equivalent there. Fiercey, I second I'quen's suggestion that you contact MM. I have spoken to him twice recently and he is definitely very approachable and willing to discuss issues concerning individual shareholders.
It's unbelievable! We go up a half P and somebody's right in with a 75k sale
We're on the move Cashy!
Thanks. By the way, for anybody interested the bid appears to have closed at 21.5 according to Hargreaves Lansdown. And price of copper seems to be taking a breather.
Hello Illaquens. You say "all other support functions to Bangkok". Are you saying there are no admin people in the UK? Have they outsourced everything-admin, accounts, compliance?
I knew you were the man for the job Fiercey.
No wonder there's no marketing-there's no-one to do it!
Get in there Fiercey and show 'em how it's done. You won't need a company car-you've got a posh one already.
Hello Illaquens. Yes, SFR, Cobre and KLM will be the ones to really propel the SP upwards but much of the news we expect to provide the serious uplift is some way ahead still. In the meantime couldn't MTR use the good news provided by the quoted investments to sustain the SP? All the gains we make seem to be temporary because once the news, whatever it is, is digested and the SP rises a bit, we then have weeks/months of silence , so the SP drifts back and we're no better off. Every time we develop a bit of momentum we let it dissipate, there must be some way of keeping the pot simmering until the next big news arrives.
Morning Fiercey. Marimaca up 6%+ and Cobre up 8%+ as well. Why can't MTR give us update on the portfolio value. If Hydrogen can do it why can't someone at MTR?
Not the best of starts to the week. All the more disappointing as SFR was well up overnight in response to the price of copper, presumably.
And you redbarron!
I'll second that ricardofin!
I don't think we want another Bonker, Fiercey. We need the company to take the initiative, and spread the word about the genuine potential of the company's assets. An anonymous third party ramping the SP will be easily seen through. Cashy and Dakad might have a point about spreading the cash too thinly, but at the moment they get the benefit of the doubt as far as I'm concerned, but the current state of affairs can't go on for much longer. Sooner rather than later something has to come good in a big way-£85k times 300% still doesn't do anything for the SP, it just pays the bills for a bit longer. I'm getting fed up with the continual drift downwards. Even the IC's positivity won't work for ever-we need news of something major which adds to the balance sheet now not in 2/3/4 years time.
Blimey Fiercey-who's rattled your cage? You're right about MTR's lack of self help of course. If the current staff/directors don't have the time/knowledge (although I doubt it) they should get somebody in to spread the word. I'm not overly optimistic about the ASX listing either, but as Hydrogen's post shows we have a helluvva portfolio now and we need to be shouting to anybody who'll listen about it. It beggars belief that we're not getting real recognition for the potential with the royalties and Cobre/KML land.
How's the new man at Chelski doin? Big Sam's not done much for us but his new signings are just too late. We're doomed.
I think the problem is timing. The royalties are a little way off still and we're getting little or no credit for the Cobre/KML holdings. So MTR isn't benefitting from the current copper boom.
Well done Hydrogen and thanks, that must have taken you quite a while. Why can't MTR publish something like that regularly? Surely it would generate some interest, or at least give us something to talk about.
Jonfon, I started doing a list a while back but it was turning into a big job and I gave up and decided to wait for the next report from the company. However I think there may be a few investments missing from your list. Please don't take this as criticsm of your efforts (as I said I gave up!) but I think MTR also have holdings in the following:-
Artemis Resources
Predictive Discovery
Pan Global
Tanga
Marimaca
Catalyst Metals
Geopacific Resources
Canyon Resources
Aurelius Minerals
Arkle resources
I Metal Resources.
If there's 1 thing I'd like MTR to do, it is give us more frequent updates on the value of the holdings-say quarterly. Obviously that wouldn't be the same as the NAV but it would be a start!
Cashy, I've no idea what the timetable is, you'll have to ask someone who keeps up with what's going on better than I do. I've learnt to expect only the unexpected with MTR. My only expectation for the expected is that it will be late!
Cashy-is that a turn to reverse direction or to continue spinning on the 23p spot?
