As has been said many times before and by numerous people on here, MTR just don't shout out the good news enough. Surely they could give us NAV updates on a regular basis-all we get is a hopelessly out of date figure every 6 months. I appreciate there's a risk attached because the stocks we invest in are volatile by the very nature of the market we operate in, but nonetheless if the company has confidence in its investment selection, it should have the confidence to publish the figure regularly, along with appropriate comment.
The market seems to have been expecting something rather better as price is marginally down. MTR still well in profit on this investment tho'.
...chunky deals going through, but presumably just someone shifting shares around between accounts.
Incredible! Has that cheered you up DP? Now come on MTR, make it an Easter week to remember!
Well would you believe it-we're actually winning. Second half will be interesting. I just hope we don't try to defend the lead, we have to keep the pressure on. If it's still 2-1 with 20 minutes left I'm not sure I'll be able to watch. We need another goal -at least 1 probably 2, which is asking a bit much of us.
On the other hand you could give us a 3 goal start as you did last time, just to make it interesting.
Hello TF1. I'm very optimistic about Saturday. I think we'll give you a very hard game and limit you to no more than 4 goals. So, 4-0 to Chelsea!
"MTR have been so dull recently"-there's no arguing with that! But if you remain optimistic, as I do, about the eventual outcome, and can afford to wait then best not to dwell on the current situation. As someone once said if you believe everything will be alright in the end but it's not at the moment then it just means you're not at the end yet. (or something like that). One day , MTR will release an RNS and totally unexpectedly we'll be flying.
DP, do you still hold here? You've become so negative lately. If you don't have any belief at all in MTR but still hold you might as well sell up and save yourself further misery.
I must have nodded off for a few minutes, RH, and missed it. So, is there a date yet or not, or is it sometime soon(ish)?
Afternoon folks. Is the ASX listing this week. I seem to remember the 1st April being mentioned or was somebody having a laugh?
The first PAM announcement was for a "trading pause" . Now they've announced a "trading halt"? I haven't seen that before. Is it significant?
Thank-you, TF1
Close Fiercey-we've got some cheapskate outfit from SW6
Hello Fiercey, you're up early for a Chelsea fan. I take it you're expecting the SP to surge ahead in the next 3 weeks then, cos we're definitely getting 3 pts from our next game.
Good morning Forest. Perhaps I'm just being dim-it is quite early- but I'm not sure what point you're making with these 2 posts but probably the most important point from MTR shareholders' perspective is that the MTR SP is almost exactly the same now as it was 3 yrs ago (consolidation aside). I'm about to buy some MTR shares for my new granddaughter-it would be nice to see some profit before she reaches 18!!
1to1, would you define what you mean by progressive. I'm sure it is MM's intention to "progress" the company and enhance the SP and MTR's strategy at the moment is quite clear with a mix of major commitments to build long term value and "tactical" investments to generate cash flow. Do you want that changed-if you do, to what- or are you happy with the strategy and just want a new man to make it work better? We'd all like the SP to be £1 by Easter but what is a new man going to do different to achieve that?
Hello DP. I think the cause of our problem as shareholders is that nothing seems to shift the SP. We can talk all we want about the ASX listing, the prospects for Cobre/KML , the royalties from T3/A4 or the potential in the equity portfolio all against a backdrop of rising copper prices which is a potentially huge plus for all of these investments, but the fact is in the here and now investors seem unwilling to invest in MTR's potential, presumably because there have been too many false dawns in the past. Current shareholders are presumably prepared to wait for the potential to materialise, if only from fear of missing out if they sell, so the SP stagnates with few buying or selling in any significant amounts. However at some point some if not all of the potential will become real and the SP will just have to rise. When the T3 mine is up and running, when Sandfire report more brilliant assay results from A4 (and anywhere else they care to drill) and expand the mine, when Cobre/KML join in the party with their own drill campaign results, then buyers will emerge and we'll all be happy bunnies. Just might not be this Easter!
Thanks Doc, but why would the large holders transfer their shares to be sold on the ASX. What's in it for them or do they just want out anyway but don't sell here for fear of trashing the SP?
