Having read numerous articles on procurement and the depleted state of the RN, it is to put it mildly a very sensible move to have awarded the FSS contract in the way it was. It will undoubtedly enable another British yard to climb the learning curve steepily with such a world renowned partner and give the British govt another option to expedite orders going forwards. The current monopoly has handcuffed the ability of the govt to react swiftly to events in the political arena .... the war In the Ukraine has highlighted this.

Justice Holgate rules against Suffolk Energy Action Solutions

A Suffolk protest group has lost its judicial review into planning permission for two ScottishPower Renewables wind farms off the east coast of England.

In a judgement handed down by the High Court today, Justice Holgate dismissed the case by the Suffolk Energy Action Solutions (SEAS) group.

At a two-day hearing at the Administrative Court in London in May SEAS had told the court agreements between the developer and landowners covering onshore elements for the 600MW East Anglia 1 North and 900MW EA2 projects restricted the amount of information supplied to environmental impact assessments.

It claimed heads of terms agreements had prevented or discouraged stakeholders from airing concerns or raising objections.

It said then BEIS Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng should have interrogated the situation before allowing Development Consent Orders for the farms in March 2022.

However, in the judgement Justice Holgate said there was no merit in the allegation that the then Secretary of State “had failed to take into account the relevance of the allegations by SEAS to the planning merits of the scheme (i.e., whether development consent should be granted)”.

My biggest take out from that article was the comment targeting .....

That to me indicates the plan is JV with IM and not a sale.

That in turn leads on to the companies need for cash and that they do not feel the need to sell IM and must feel confident of successfully securing the finance deal. Otherwise there would be a for sale sign up.

I was reading numerous articles on Cory , think it was Si D who passed comment on them ( positive ) and as a result I went for a look.

Sometime recently (? ) it was decided all Cory barges would be converted to BIO fuel and they've won green awards blah blah.

Does anyone know about the original spec for the barges we are manufacturing , are they as original or did we have to switch to facilitate running on BIO , or is it the same set up with only minor changes. I have no idea about such things.
