Van Eck does not care what price they pay for GGP.

They make money from people buying their GDXJ fund and the fund simply tracks the price of GGP and the other miners. They are making money whether GGP goes up or down.

I don't think anyone can answer this question, but I wonder why google hasn't adjusted the historical share prices for AML.

I hold some shares in LND (Landore) which did a 1 to 20 consolidation too, on 20 August. Price used to be around 1p, now 20p, but when you google the historical price chart, all the prices before August have been scaled up by 20.

Same with Tesla, I don't know the date when they split, but google has reduced the $2000+ prices to the equivalent post-split prices of $400 ish.

So for AML google should be showing Friday's price as £14.17, not 70.85p, but they haven't done this, so you can't see the historical trends any more.

When IAG had their rights issue, Google adjusted the historical prices by the 5 to 2 factor, the closing price on the day before (around 195p) was retrospectively changed to 135p or so to reflect the dilution, but this was misleading as since your shares only retained their value proportional to the market cap if you subscribed to the rights.

On the morning of the previous GDXJ buy, the SP was 21p and had risen to 24p at 1630. The GDXJ buy was after hours and an uncrossing trade.

If GDXJ was buying today, with the SP currently at 28p I expect they would end up paying 33p or more.

For a private investor, the real SP is the price at which you are next able to sell. I don't care if an after-hours trade goes through at 45p today, even if I wanted to sell at 45p I would not be able to get that price. I also don't care what price people are buying at, unless I'm looking to buy more.

If you hold a very large amount of shares, you won't be able to sell all of them at once, so there is effectively no real SP. [Which some people who want to confiscate Jeff Bezos' "wealth" don't seem to understand - he doesn't have billions in his bank account and if he was forced to sell lots of his shares the price would collapse.]

Nobody is playing any games, it is automatic. If the price is below the mid point between bid and ask they will be shown as sells.

But if you sell today, you won't "be on the register on the 11th" so the wording of the RNS sounds like you won't get the divi. That's what I don't understand.

If you need to hold the shares at the end of today to get the dividend, why did the price drop this morning instead of tomorrow morning?

What are the criteria for getting into GDX?

It may be up 140% for some people, but I've been waiting for nearly 2 years and would just about get my original stake back if I sold today.

I am glad it's finally going somewhere, but the person who told me to research and invest in this company back in 2018 is still down £150K!

Bought at 19p, happy with my current holding at 15p average and hopefully the H1 2021 deadlines will be met.

You can put US shares in a UK ISA. This exempts the gains and dividends from UK tax, but not US tax.

The W-8BEN form has nothing to do with UK tax. The US normally taxes dividends at 30%, but if you are not a US resident or citizen you can reduce that tax to 15% (and 0% if your shares are in a SIPP) by filling it in. The tax is withheld from the dividends before they are paid to your broker so you won't see it being taken off.

Do you mean a share split? If 10 shares are consolidated into 1 the price will become 290p not 2.9p

Don't remember how I found EUA but was looking into it in April this year as I was curious about why a share would be suspended. In August I noticed it had resumed trading again and had gone up significantly from 12p in July, thought I could trade this to make a quick profit but 25p seemed too high.

I then started doing some research and realised 25p was actually cheap, but the SP started dropping in September, and I correctly guessed that the bottom would be around 19p, so I bought in. My target was originally 38p i.e. double my money which has now happened - but I'll stick around until the end.

Can someone explain to me what all these 8.5 forms actually mean - is UBS doing the trading, or is it on behalf of clients, I assume clients who are not involved in the sale process? Why do they have long and short positions at the same price? Is this just normal activity but they have to disclose it because they are involved with the sale?
