RE: MSCI27 Nov 2020 09:33
MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International) decides who to put in its indexes. If EUA stops existing as a publicly traded company it will be removed from the index.
Funds and ETFs that track the relevant index will buy EUA. They don't get any benefits from doing so, they just buy according to their rules (to track the price of all the companies in the index in proportion to their market cap) and they don't care about the price.
Investors who buy these funds want exposure to the companies making up the index. They don't care about any individual company.
When EUA is sold whatever happens to our shares will also happen to the shares held by tracker funds.
