Thanks for reaching out DJ. Knowing them the way I now do I expect they are so scared of giving away personal information and being sued that they found it easier to dismiss than try to help. They seem to be more into family entertainment these days, video games and soft play areas etc, than what they laughably call 'large objects'! The need to display the latter appear to be increasingly an inconvenience.
Tbh I stopped volunteering there over a year ago , having volunteered for several years. That was partly because I am a bit of a Drama Queen. During Covid all their duty of care protocols were rigorously followed and I was phoned up every couple of weeks to see how I was and how I was coping. Then last year I was diagnosed with a gentleman specific cancer due almost certainly to a familial genetic alteration I have. I decided to take a few months away and guess what - after 6+ months I had not had a single solitary phone call to check how I was. So I decided I would rather volunteer somewhere I was more appreciated!.
Sorry if this is dramatically off subject, which I guess may attract critisism, but I will give all you gentlemen posters of a certain age (45 +) my usual message - GET TESTED, don't delay, and don't be fobbed off by your friendly local GP if by some bloody miracle you can get in touch with him/ her. Believe me you haven't got any giblets doctors and nurses haven't seen a thousand times before. Prostate cancer seems anecdotally far more common than statistics suggest.
I promise my next post will not be so off topic.
