Do you like Salopian Beers (Kasmir, Oracle etc.)? I do, fantastic aroma like pretty much no other beer I know. Enjoy, I'm on what my drinking friends and I call a LRD (Liver Recovery Day). Try to have a couple a week at least.

Yes Mr T, really enjoyed the time there. 911 Sport were great, prepped like a new car. After picking it up we drove over to the 'Dambusters Inn' at Scampton for a pint, before returning to spend the night a couple of miles from BBMF at a pub, the Leagate Inn.
BBMF was great but the Just Jane visit at East Kirkby was stunning. I would volunteer but being an aircraft being returned to flying condition you have to be qualified to touch it. I may be adept at whipping the cylinder head off an A series but a Lancaster is a different kettle of fish.
ps I mentioned the BBMF Lancaster being painted to resemble the plane whose pilot was photographed on his 20th birthday. Just looked up my photos. 30 mission marks, by age 20. Unbelievable, my youngest is 26 and I still think she's a baby.

Just what happens sometimes. I'm a bit of a softy but I wish I could help her, she was clearly always troubled. I came to the conclusion she was bipolar and quite probably an alcoholic like her Dad. Its not nice as I spent 2 years with her so I care. There were loads of stories, including when she took her seatbelt off and tried to get out of the car on a motorway!!

To be honest I'm not too serious about anything. Why do I want a million anyway? I'd have to get rid of it sharpish if HUR went through the roof else the Treasury would take 40% when I cark it , which may be in the not too distant future.
I have 2 daughters, but I am happy to report they wont in any way rely on me after I pop my clogs because my ex wife married a multi millionaire after getting shot of me. Mind you I never have been good at choosing women, did have one who increasingly took to yelling and throwing crockery at me from across the room. Turns out I got out in time because last year she stabbed her husband then jumped out of a window to try and end it all (and I'm being serious). All part of lifes rich experience. in fact I have to admit she was quite fun when she was in a good mood!

I drink Lancashire and Yorkshire (dare I say that?) in the pub I mostly frequent, have had Bowland beers. I like the light coloured citrussy beers.

Well I am looking on the bright side, I'm going to use this SP as an opportunity to Bed & ISA half of my non ISA HUR shares to join the main lot already sheltered in the ISA wrapper. This time next year we'll be millionaires. Probably.

Did my return trip to Lincolnshire in the last couple of days. Visited the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in the morning yesterday. Lovely unhurried tour with a lovely old gentleman as a guide, just the 2 of us in the group. Witnessed a full Typhoon display over the airfield (Coningsby), the pilot practicing his full air show routine - had to watch because the tour guide couldn't hear himself speak in the BBMF hanger! Anyway, several Spitfires, 2 Hurricanes and the Lancaster. Fantastic 90 minutes.
The day got better, drove the 9 miles to East Kirby airfield for a presentation on the winters restoration progress on 'Just Jane', the Lancaster that is planned to be the 2nd one flying in UK. Couldn't recommend this more, no barriers, fantastic talk by the proper engineer describing that fanatical quality that is being applied and a chance to see very skilled craftsmen/engineers work on various components. I wish I could add photos. Even the smell was good!
Final thought. The BBMF aircraft are periodically repainted to resemble specific planes. The Lancaster currently represents accurately one in a photograph they have, showing a pilot giving the thumbs up, leaning out of a Lancaster cockpit window. The photo showing the 15+ mission marks on the side of the nose. He and his crew had completed missions as dangerous as Berlin (which crews dreaded). The occasion of the photograph? His 20th birthday. Makes you think doesn't it?

I find myself always coming up with excuses why AAU doesn't climb, this time I reason that POG/POS is not showing the strength that many (perhaps with the exception of you and I) expected, plus the uncertain situation again in Turkey. Glass half full John says that costs in Q2 are likely to drop due to the fall in the Turkish Lira, glass half empty John fears what economic measures may have to be put into place to attempt to stabilise the economy.
At the and of the day I haven't got a clue, maybe that is true of others hence disinterest in the share.

I don't like when things go toxic on these boards, and I filtered PAUL1D before because he implied something obnoxious about my daughters. I don't forgive that. I unfiltered him recently thinking I may have made a mistake and had positive contributions to make. However it is clear he isn't worth reading with his confrontational style so back in my filter he goes. So PAUL1D winge on all you like, including about me if you wish, and continue with your drivel if you need to because I for one wont read it.
DJ please keep posting. I don't agree with you about Brexit but I enjoy your contributions.

I have changed my tune. Now I don't want to see any RNS' in the near term. My logic is that, with FOIL likely to be a few weeks still, any news earlier is not likely to be very positive. Am I just being a worrying old git?

Think there will be a bit uncertainty until things settle again in Turkey but lets hope. Doesn't alter the gold/silver in the ground! Like you I don't expect a decisive break above 2p in the near future, still very confident of the long term.
Your next 2 fixtures look promising - in particular if you beat Cardiff that would settle it I would have thought.

Hope you are right DJ. If they are over the worst then we may simply benefit from lowered local costs, although 20+% inflation will impact those costs over the next few years.

Re Brexit, I don't really want to get into it, we are all totally fed up with it here now and have lost confidence in our parliamentary system. To quote a well known expression, our Politicians couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.
As for me, I'd like to see success here, monetise, and live as a hermit, maybe a troglodyte in a cave in North Wales. Nevada would be too hot for me.

Think we should make a pact to talk only of cars, poker, the Grateful Dead, prog rock, jokes, football, wine, travel, women (naturally strictly within Me Too constraints) until FOIL is announced. No more ship movements, helicopter movements, weather, ropes, drilling techniques, lack of RNS', moans, groans, etc etc
That way we will all get on better!

Reading disturbing reports on the Turkish economy again. I'm not rubbing my hands thinking costs will dip due to a weak Lira because a collapse could give problems. It may put downward pressure on AAU in the next days
