Hi Cornish, I was working on 1450/17 and 1.23 exchange I think (didn't save the calc), and was too lazy to check the stockpile figures! Ties in though with what myself, Van and Paul heard at the last presentation, where Chris Sangster (from memory) soothed my concerns about transition between AS to AN/Deyra by saying that the stockpile would tide over until mid 2020

Cornish, seems good, Au oz down compared to 2018 Q3 but up from 2019 Q2 as expected, good to see ore being stockpiled both for winter and to bridge any problems as Derya develops. High silver production. I get £9.4m ish but who knows, we will know next month

Mostly agree Vanvan, but I don't think our opinion of Trump is in tune - it is the US and its world influence (and scary power) that can give rise to such a ceasefire, in spite of rather than because of Trump. Massive relief if this is a ceasefire that sticks. It may mean that Turkey gets it buffer zone. But this isn't a political chatroom and will say no more.
Re AAU, I don't know what to expect from the quarterlies. I suspect more like Q2 than Q3 2018 but time will tell. If this ceasefire looks as if it has good foundations then the SP should act positively irrespective of the number of ounces produced.

And I hope this ceasefire just announced holds.

Just an observation, looking at todays trades the spread seems much tighter than usual. Not sure what that means, if anything

At least the RNS started 'pleased'! Agree with your sentiments though, while the data appears encouraging (especially given the tiny MC) a more explicit appraisal of effect would be nice. Quarterly production tomorrow maybe?

Just an observation, and before I get accused I am NOT supporting Turkish aggression but.... the first thing the West, including the EU and UK (see how I separated them there?) do is to clamp down on arm licences to Turkey. So when there are contracts for tens or hundreds of $/£/Lira on offer we cant wait to flog Turkey deadly hardware. Then the West acts all surprised and horrified when its used. I can see Turkey sourcing arms from the Russians, who would probably not regard the stuff as being merely on expensive loan.

I'll not disagree with you, or indeed anyone else. There seems many sides to this and (though I hate to use the expression) probably fake news at the moment in abundance. What seems clear is that the Trumps decision to pull out their troops triggered this but I even have some sympathy with him (never thought I'd say that about Trump!) - why was it that the US alone were peacekeeping there, where was the international presence/contribution? There needs to be an immediate ceasefire and arbitration to find a solution that saves the face of all parties, not threats and counter threats. Will these ******* conflicts ever end?

True Claret, the Q3 figures are going to get totally lost this week amongst current concerns.

All I know DJ is that whatever I decide to do will almost certainly be the opposite of what I should!

No need for apologies. Trouble with wishing for the downfall of Erdogan is that we don't know who would fill the vacuum. That person may conceivably be worse, for Turkey as a whole and also for our little company. So lets be careful what we wish for! Erdogan was losing popularity in Turkey, if this venture of his proves successful it may just give him a new lease of life, just as Maggie enjoyed post Falklands - by the way I am in no way comparing the two or commenting on my feelings towards Mrs T, I am just observing the effect a successful military intervention can have on the sitting Government.

Good post Ash, as we have come to expect. Subjectively there seems to have been less news coming out about the conflict over the weekend, and no daft tweets off you know who. Turkey is geopolitically important, and I hope for everyones sake the action is limited to the published objectives - if successful the result will be deemed a success for Erdogan, though I have no idea how they will police a following peace since by definition they will be occupying Syrian territory. I just hope restrain is shown by Turkish forces and a pragmatic view taken by the Kurds provided the limited objectives are adhered to.
I suppose there is a currency risk between receipt of payment from the Turkish government, and I don't know what dealing fees they incur when transferring between the 2 currencies.
You just feel, from our investment perspective, on piece of news (or tweet) could have a significant effect either good or bad.
That aside we should receive Q3 production figures, hopefully in 6500 - 7500 range Au.
