I agree Mr C. Think sometimes what I say is misconstrued (probably due to my own incompetence in the use of English) but what I mean is that I wish our board were like GFs. They put their business and their shareholders first.
BCNs doesn't, anecdotally at least the BCN board appear to be putting their interests first.

Like the sweepstake on the lse Hurricane board predicting the SP on first oil (which occurred in June 2019). I was considered a right pessimist as 79p (i think) amongst 50 or so predictions that averaged well over £1.
Its just over 3p now, couple of weeks ago it was just over 1p!

I wouldn't say 'its never going to happen'. If I thought that I wouldn't be hanging around. Communication seems poor, funny how you tend to hear lots from AIM firms when there is little to say but they lose their voices when things are more crucial.
Looking back over RNSs the recent revised 2021 production target was already heavily implied by the previous update. We shouldn't have been shocked.
Perhaps we should take off the rose tinted specs and read between the lines more. I am happy to keep holding at present.

Sanchez, I think that was an excellent post which you took much trouble and time over.
Very pleased that it wasn't leapt upon and critisised by the more bullish posters here, probably due to its sincerity even though they rightly feel able to disagree.

Trouble is me old mate, most iis are fully invested here and cannot invest more even if they wanted.
And the longer this goes on, the more people including you and me will get 'fed up' - maybe to the point that people sell and thereby deplete the likely 'no' votes that we have.

I don't understand why you think that makes GF unethical? They offered what they offered. Could have been 10p or 10 quid. Its up to them what figure they decide upon. Its up to BCN shareholders to accept or reject. I cant see how that is manipulating the market unless it is done with the collusion of the BCN BoD - and although some suspect that there isn't any proof

I have no gripe with GF, they are a business acting in a legal business like way, to benefit their shareholders. I wont critisise that.
However given the facts that we are privy to (and it must be remembered that there are possibly things yet to come into the public domain) it does appear that, unlike GF, the BCN BoD are NOT acting in the best interests of shareholders.

Obviously a large discovery would enhance the SP earlier looking at the likely DCF, but I'm not expecting significant regular divis from AAU

Yep. We are trapped in a share with a pretty much capped share price given that on the balance of probabilities 67.5p is the likely result.

I know Foz. The delay explains the discount, clearly expected by the market from the off.
Trouble is that they only have permission from the GF S/H for a big up to about 70p, so to make any greater bid on the success of Dee's campaign will presumably cause yet more protracted delay as they go through the process again. If you think about it GF are loving this - works are continuing, production date hasn't shifted, they are losing nothing by delaying the date they have to actually divi up the payment for a successful takeover.
Just saying, GF are in no rush. We are being played.

Nomad, Mr C, don't forget that these percentages are of the total shareholding, and we can assume GF voted for the resolutions. Their votes are not valid for the votes on the (proposed) bid. So on that basis the votes against the resolution would have been greater

I agree with your comments gwm though a regular divi would still be taxable (beyond the allowance) for shares not held in a tax friendly wrapper.
I think we may see a rise when the special divi is announced, though I suspect some will sell into it to go for CGT rather than IT, and the SP is bound to drop when XD.

Note the phrase "The Company will provide a further update on the Company's dividend policy during July."
