Big-baloney...you keep saying that but its not true. The west, US in particular wants the world to toe its line and they slap sanctions if they dont. Why do they need to sanction Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba etc, why do US need 740 military bases around the globe, the list goes on and on. China is mor popular in developing countries than US UK. Common argument they have is in dealing with US we get lectures whereas dealing with China we get railways, fibre optic etc. We like US culture, democracy etc but we like railways and fibre optic more. China accepts the way the world is and work with it, whereas US wants the world the way it wants to be and interferes to try make it happen eg. Iraq war where WMD was just an excuse...in reality it was to change the regime, it backfired and the biggest winners are Iran and China.

Im wondering, is this anything to do with Ukraine concealing the dealings of Hunter Biden in Ukraine before last US presidential election. I know Trump was hard on heels on Ukraine to come up with information on Hunter Biden but Zelensky held steady. Given margin of Bidens victory, Ukraine revealations on Hunter could have made all the difference. Currently, Republicans in the US House of Representatives are building a case against Hunter Biden dealings in Ukraine and elsewhere, and may be, just may be enough there which the President of US may want to keep under wrap in the run up to the next elections.

Adding to WoW assessment of assets, valuation of intangible assets like Goodwill is subjective eg. CINE did not make any impairment charges on Goodwill in 2021. As cinema industry is on a hiding to nothing, value of such assets should really be written down to zero, cos you cant even give it away as CINE is finding out right now with assets in ROW.

This is my first posting on this bb. As regards your comment, nothing could be further from the truth. It was Lloyds who bailed out the taxpayer at the expense of its shareholders. Taxpayers bailed out RBS.

In 2008, at the height of the financial crisis, Alistair Darling and the Labour govt approached Lloyds to takeover HBOS. Lloyds sensing an opportunity not be missed agreed and merged with HBOS despite its risky loan book.

Lloyds saw it as an opportunity cos only few years earlier, it was blocked from takeover of Abbey National on the competition grounds, Lloyds simply had too big a market share for mortgages already at the time.

Lloyds was the best run bank on the high street with the highest debt rating until it absorbed HBOS and have struggled ever since. Had Lloyds not taken over HBOS, the liability would have fallen on the taxpayer, just like the RBS.

FYI it has gone up just a tinker more in US$ cos the pound has risen a little against the $ in the past few days. % change over past 5 days of both the stocks quoted is exactly the same.
Doesnt surprise me though as this is indicative of your approach to CINE. Root out anything and everything resembling facts on CINE, latch onto all else, bury your head in the sand and hope for the best.
