Second guessing this sp at present is almost as difficult as trying to read mararab’s posts. 180 appears to have become the old 200 and I can see it bouncing around this number until real positive news arrives. I am sticking with it as time to recovery is immaterial to me.

mararab. Please learn to read. I use the word “speculating” which in itself indicates it is not a fact.

Raffles. Far from right. At present you can travel to the Canaries with a double jab certificate or a negative test within 72 hours of arrival. I read the Spanish press living in the Canaries and what they are speculating is that from July 15th anyone travelling back to the UK from the Canaries will not need to quarantine for 10 days. It is not official but makes sense.

I am residing in the Canary Isles and I can assure you they are not on the green list.

Cannot believe you are still posting the same old garbage. This morning I have had 3 teams meetings. One with Italy, one with South Africa and the other with the UK. I have a further one with the States when they wake up later today. In pre COVID days I would have spent two weeks travelling to accomplish exactly the same result. I never left the pool side in the Canaries. Travelling for me is over except in exceptional circumstances. I deal with the biggest aviation companies and I know their policies on future travelling have changed forever.
Just to add all my meetings today are on alternate fuelled aircraft. The pace this is now moving has to be seen to be believed.

Man I almost fell of the pool wall laughing this morning at the spat between Q and Day. Lighten up both of you these bb’s are a joke. Now Q you know what this means. fatprofits. The Max is not grounded. I deal with people everyday with Boeing connections and I would surely have been told. I assume you are referring to the April grounding of some Max’s due to the electrical conductivity problem in the area of the ****pit. The FAA issued an AD and a SB was issued by Boeing and the corrective work was performed. The FAA then gave the all clear.
Now Q have you nothing better to do now than visit a bb just to spread mischief. I have still a 60% profit on a big number here and I am going nowhere. Sure there will be dips in the sp but when some kind of normality returns this is only going one way.

@sunsurfer. I have two properties in SA, one in Jnb and the other on the coast near Ballito. As I don’t hold a permanent residence visa I would have to quarantine in a hotel at both ends of the trip. Added to this the infection rate in Gauteng is climbing and best kept clear of at least this year. Flights to SA will not commence this month. As you know in normal times an A 380 and two 747’s made the trip to SA everyday and this is a tremendous loss in revenue. Normality will return but not tomorrow.
Just to add I take no notice of the brigade who constantly come on this bb and have the knack of selling at the top and buying at the bottom and feel the need to tell everyone.

What BJ announces today has little to do with the airlines fortunes. Unfortunately due to this inept government’s handling of securing the borders when required extreme caution will now be employed in opening them up. I am sure in the not too distant future we will see countries being added to the green list when vaccination numbers are considered high enough. On the negative side lucrative BA routes to destinations like Southern Africa will not be up and running this year.
Hopefully for punters with serious money in here (I am one) I am nearly right.

As usual more garbage from the non invested fleecy. The hordes of holiday makers who flew to Portugal did so because the incompetent UK government gave the country a green status. This meant no quarantine on return to the UK and just the one PCR test on day 2. A gamble would be going to a country classed as amber or red and hoping it turned green before the return journey.
As for the voucher instead of cash regarding Rya. and BA I am the victim of both but I will use them eventually. I think it was common knowledge this was the case.

The word from the UK regarding no additional green countries is not good. Worse is Portugal going amber.
The businesses here in the Canaries were counting on them going green but not to be. The present rate of infection in Tenerife is 35/100000 and improving. Man you have as much chance of catching the Black Death. I know of guys who have taken a chance and booked to come here convinced the Canaries would turn green and the testing regime on return to the UK would cost little. Wrong.
I am an optimist but as the numbers in the UK are definitely going to keep going up as lockdown is completely eased I think normal travel conditions will not return this year.

Flew to the Canaries last Friday (EasyJet) and this is where I stay for the remainder of the year. It is still very quiet here as the two week holiday makers are not willing to take on the expense of the amber testing regime on their return to the UK. If the Islands enter the green list normality will resume. Unfortunately IAG will not benefit too much as they need long haul to be given the green light. sp holding up well and I will not sell.

fb. The ten weeks I have just spent in the UK is the longest stay for many years. As you probably know the weather during this period has been a joke, either cold or wet and cold. Fortunately I have two passports so I will alternate with them to avoid the limitation on non EU residents to 90 days.
I am invested heavily in aviation stocks and I am sure they will be worth a good deal more at the end of this year than they are now as normality returns.

Travelled to the Canaries this morning from Manchester with EasyJ. Manchester Airport quiet and no forms required. So easy. Passport stamped on arrival and a date of Max. stay written in. Sat on the balcony, 27 degrees, beer in hand but unfortunately the pool water is a dark shade of green. Sea is almost motionless. That’s me for 3 months. Could be worse I suppose.
I expect the Spanish Islands to enter the green list soon so Rya should benefit.
