It would be quicker at a football game to have 50000 tests sent out in the post to the fans who have a ticket for the game. The tests have a QR code relating to the fan. Then the day of the game they do the test and submit the result online at home or show at the turnstyle. Thats the quickest way on teh day.

However that would rely on public trust, im sure many a football fan with even with positive covid wouldnt miss a Liverpool- Man Utd match :)

So maybe a manned machine is the only way due to trust issues.

What a great idea and however some caveats as

Time
20 seconds was the minimum time the machine took to return the result. This is not the time of the overall process. You need to first talk to the 'customer' then perform a swap and load the machine first. Once process complete you need to reload the machine and ready it for the next person. So time is more likely 2-3 minutes per person.

Clinical trials required
Only tested on small scale mainly in lab so far but has a 99.8% sensitivity and 96.7% specificity which is very impressive. Thier RNS does state they will start clinical trials.

Cost
This test encompasses a computer to scan for the virus which costs $20,000 and each test kit is around the price of a ‘paperback book’. So in all likelyhood the test kits will actually be more expensive than the pregnancy style tests.

If Richard wins the Euro lottery this weekend he would probably use the term 'ive had some good news'.

So how long is fairly soon hope it quicker than their imminent timeframe hehe :)

I for one am happy they have applied for/updated their patents to include COVID-19.
