Lets hope we have a mild flu season as hospital admissions will be higher than April if we have a nasty strain of flu infecting people with Covid at the same time.

What worries me is the lack of preperation and focus on this issue. Or maybe government/experts are intentionally keeping this issue on the low key knowing how danagerous this can be.

My mum works in Whiston and Southport hospitals, thankfully covid admissions low atm but the general message going round is to expect a sharp rise in admissions.

This is the Rebif adaptable trial for Covid-19 delivered by subcutaneous injection. I did read they were looking into developing inhaled form but would need to go through a new trials from pre clinical to P3. Alot of money and time required. With Synairgen about to market SNG001 and with patents I think they realised they missed the boat.

Remapcap is a large national medical trial used at the very start of the pandemic to test combinations of drugs. One of the trials they have been running for a good while now is for IFN-B. Read from page 18 onwards for IFNB and the great successes it has previously had vs other viruses and then read about the problems with corticosteroids.

People have wondered why IFN-B hasnt been trialed/administered quicker to the population in the form of rebif when IFN-B benefits have been known for years. I suspect the corticosteroids issue is why other drugs like hydroxychloroquine etc were picked to be forefront/focus of the recovery trial.

Quote 'The trial as such, it is important to determine the effectiveness of corticosteroids alone, IFN-ß1a alone, and evaluate, as rapidly as possible, any harmful interaction.'

The RNS and documentation recently with the COPD trail made no mention of corticosteroids. Watch the interview with Richard on proactive investor and he gives us all a great clue to the big success coming. With big smirks he confirms the inhaled form of IFN-B hworks with corticosteroids (used when patients are on oxygen).

I think this has been understated how important this welcome discovery is in the treatment of Covid and many other similar viruses.

Synairgen do have a patent in Japan for their inhaled IFNB for COPD. Sushi for interferon :)

Graking you can see the average age/sex etc in the COPD powerpoint results (not the RNS) and that it was targeted in the older population.

The drug is safe and well tolerated in older people who have reduced lung function and reduced immune system. So from your Immunosenescence point the news is good as the data is weighted to the oler age bracket.
