It's not showing on the trade list, I can only see back to 16:09:31 so it's possible it was a bit before then. All I know is the volume was 78,301 for that minute and the share price nudged up a tiny bit afterwards.

Captain, I think they've just bought a chunk on the French market... it is the biggest trade in over 5 days, I guess it could be anyone though.

Tricky lol, I did reduce my holding I admit!... though I do still have quite a few. I reduced it only because of the things I've mentioned which make me a bit nervous. In the past they've proudly told us who the distributors are and I would've expected some excitement around the hopefully growing Covid POC sales team. It just seems a bit odd that he didn't take the opportunity to mention it considering they stopped advertising a few days ago, I'm guessing they haven't hired anybody yet but perhaps have enough candidates to chose from.

Now I'm trying to assess the likelihood of another positive update before the results in a months time. Exciting times

Yes but who are these distributors? Usually we are given some details about who they are... they might just be individual people, rather than big well know distributors with tons of existing customers and reach.

NEWS Omicron subvariant BA.2 has arrived in NC.

Some laboratories in North Carolina have detected the presence of the latest COVID-19 variant, a subvariant of omicron called BA.2.

The BA.2 subvariant is also called "stealth omicron" because researchers say it can be harder to detect on a PCR test. It also shows resistance to some treatments and may cause more serious illness than the initial omicron variant.

BA.2 does cause more serious illness compared to BA.1 in unvaccinated or people with low immunity. Only 65% of Americans are fully vaccinated. Note the recent surge in hospitalisations in Denmark, where BA.2 is widespread and 82% are fully vaccinated.

I’m taking a guess that there will probably be a new spike in cases before the summer.

As part of its on-going work to track variants, WHO's Technical Advisory Group on SARS-CoV-2 Virus Evolution (TAG-VE) met yesterday to discuss the latest evidence on the Omicron variant of concern, including its sublineages BA.1 and BA.2….

While reaching the above determination, the TAG-VE also looked at preliminary laboratory data from Japan generated using animal models without any immunity to SARS-CoV-2 which highlighted that BA.2 may cause more severe disease in hamsters compared to BA.1. They also considered real-world data on clinical severity from South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Denmark, where immunity from vaccination or natural infection is high: in this data, there was no reported difference in severity between BA.2 and BA.1.

WHO will continue to closely monitor the BA.2 lineage as part of Omicron and requests countries to continue to be vigilant, to monitor and report sequences, as well as to conduct independent and comparative analyses of the different Omicron sublineages.

The TAG-VE meets regularly and continues to discuss available data on transmissibility and severity of variants, and their impact on diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines.

A Covid-19 expert has called new laboratory work out of Japan “seriously bad news”, despite the pandemic retreating in most parts of the world.

Experts are worried a new subvariant of Omicron could see a devastating surge in infections and deaths around the world just as the pandemic appears to be retreating.

Eric Feigl-Ding, a Harvard-trained epidemiologist who was among the first researchers to sound the alarm about the seriousness of Covid-19, wrote that the subvariant — BA.2 — is “seriously bad news”.

“Even the World Health Organisation is getting very concerned about BA.2 variant outcompeting and displacing old Omicron,” he wrote on social media.

He wrote that news out of Denmark, where the subvariant represents 90 per cent of all new cases, suggests it is having significant health impacts.

“Here is what is happening in the country with the most BA.2 variant so far. (Denmark) has been BA.2 dominant for weeks and have now almost no mitigations either … now their excess deaths are spiking again.”

Dr Feigl-Ding shared a table showing the gap between those dying because of Covid-19 and those simply dying with the virus was widening, and a separate graph from John Hopkins University, shared last week, that showed a major surge in deaths since November 1, 2020.

I am actually thinking about buying a device myself and providing a private rapid testing service to the public once free testing ends. I'm figuring I can charge the same as a PCR test (not to be too greedy) and comfortably take the whole local market, as who would pay £60 for a PCR test if they can get almost instant results for the same price. Anybody doing that will make an easy £30-£40 profit per test. It wouldn't take long to break even, and there will no doubt be a surge of new cases going in to the Autumn (if not sooner as restrictions are lifted or a new variant emerges).

Well in the UK, here's a quick bit of proof that shows demand...

Haven't sold any in the UK because we don't have the CTDA yet. In Europe we very likely have sold some, just not the massive orders that DB would deem RNS worthy.

There is clearly going to be increasing demand for POC testing in conjunction with the new anti-viral treatments. Reason being it is crucial to administer the anti-virals as early as possible in the infection - and only an accurate and sensitive POC test will do that :)

Rapid testing will be needed for people offered anti-virals - this will undoubtedly be POC testing.

LFT testing is never used for symptomatic cases anyway and we all know PCR tests are anything but rapid.

Interesting to consider that after the free PCR testing ends for the general public, anybody with symptoms needing to purchase a test will be far better off getting a POC test done than an expensive PCR (approx £60). If Genedrive are selling the tests for £20-30 they may retail for less than PCRs, so not only immediate results but cheaper too.

Just need that CTDA for UK sales.

The POC test is intended to be a long term Covid testing solution, there is plenty of demand for these tests. It will be the PCR and LFT tests that will see reduced demand.

Genedrive have now filled the Cov-19 POC sales position they have been hiring for recently. Progress is being made.

No they’re not Sledgey, many people in the uk are just not bothering to report infections anymore.

If you look at other countries where they are, such as Germany, they recorded their highest daily number of new cases 4 days ago. Denmark cases look more stable but high and yesterday they reported their highest number of daily deaths.

Possibly Meeja. Or the 17th could be when they opened their short, and maybe it shows 0% change because they had no short before 17th.
