New cases have been rising slightly over the past few days in the uk, and imo will climb significantly next week now that restrictions are easing, and the more infectious BA.2 strain takes hold. Which will naturally increase demand for testing.

I've just read this article published today... There might actually still be a chance the almost-forgotten-about PCR test will get EUA approval due to it's multiple viral targets advantage...

"The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has updated its lists of molecular and antigen SARS-CoV-2 tests with emergency use authorizations (EUA) to indicate whether each approved test is designed with single or multiple viral targets.

The FDA said it provided the new information on each assay because “tests with single targets are more susceptible to changes in performance due to viral mutations, meaning they are more likely to fail to detect new variants. Tests with multiple targets are more likely to continue to perform well when new variants emerge.”

The issue came up after the arrival of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 in late 2021. At that time, public health and government officials began to analyze the impact of Omicron on test results."

On top of upcoming POC and AIHL news, that would be a rather nice unexpected bonus!!

That's 2 days in a row closing above the 200ema, the first time since December. The indicators are starting to point to a decent reversal coming here, I think even tiny bit of positive news and it'll fly to the high twenties.

There are 3 sublineages of Omicron, BA.3 is probably coming up next by the sounds of it...

If somebody has symptoms they have to be tested with a PCR test. LFTs are for screening, for people without symptoms.

Also worth noting that some people are getting infected with the new BA.2 variant after already having omicron, so the latest variant is managing to evade immunity in some cases. Currently still under investigation.

Well Genedrive and BC were always planning a long term relationship, it's quite possible Genedrive will benefit from their positive relationship with them and Beckman's existing customer base... The new salemen will use every contact they can in looking for leads.

Agreed. Some of the NHS hospitals offer lamp tests however they require a saliva sample to be sent off to a lab where it's tested using lamp methods, so not point of care at all. Genedrive's test would be perfect, just need that CTDA signoff... which is anticipated any day now.

The spread is tighter than they’re showing, difficult to buy… as soon as 1 or 2 buys go through they stop you buying. I’m expecting the bid to move up again soon, there aren’t many selling. Seems there might be some large buys behind the scenes or mm’s simply think there’s more volume further up, the chart certainly suggests a rise… it’s been over sold for a while and the tech indicators are looking good for one. Also of course, it could be that an RNS has been logged… :)

The Business Development Specialist role is without doubt a fulltime sales role. I can't find the other role listed yet. Great to see things happening. Certainly, with several full time sales specialists on the team they stand a much better chance in making some decent sales than previously, I would think the new team will also help boost the mediocre sales of the other products too.

No I already have a holding in the 20s Sharebel. I was considering doubling it yesterday but the job ad was niggling at me which then led me to question how good this POC test actually is. So I started reading up about covid lamp POC tests again, to try to get a better idea of the realistic market. Came across this Canary one, which seems better (and more modern) and has been around for ages.

If nothing amounts from the interested parties soon then I wont have much faith in the forecasted sales figures. I remember DB pointing out that management have their own sales forecasted figures which they are not going to disclose. I’m certainly not selling my holding but having some doubts about buying any more and the moment, until I know why anybody would choose the genedrive poc over the canary one for instance, there are other ones too though I’m still researching… several are less sensitive or need a lab (even some lamp tests need to be sent off to a lab).

Also, I’ve just been reading about Canary’s 2 minute saliva POC test (with 98% sensitivity) that was CE marked nearly a year ago. It would be very useful to know how much it is, in order to gauge whether the Genedrive test could be more attractive.
